- Dragami Games president Yoshimi Yasuda has disclosed that the studio is developing a new title.
- This new game is in the works alongside Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, which is confirmed to launch in 2024.
- The president also said that an announcement for this mystery game might come in 2024.
While talking to 4Gamer, Dragami Games president Yoshimi Yasuda revealed that the studio is working on another title besides Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. In the publication’s year-end creator interviews, the developer disclosed that an announcement for this title could be made in 2025. However, the studio can’t announce it right now but it is aiming to make it a good game all fans can enjoy.
Another thing—while we’re not at the stage where we can announce it yet, we’re developing a new title outside of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. I think we will be able make an announcement in 2025, but we’re aiming to make it a good game that will satisfy many players.”
In addition, Yasuda also gave players an update regarding Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, saying Dragami Games will complete and publish the title in 2024. The president also said that they are only changing things fans requested in the remaster and will keep the worldview of the original so fans everywhere can like this title.
In 2024, we will complete and release Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. By ‘walking the righteous path’ of carrying over the worldview and scenario from the original game that were so well received, while revising elements that users requested we improve and adding carefully selected new elements, we’re aiming to create a title that many players on modern hardware can fall in love with.”
Originally envisioned as a remake, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP transitioned into a remaster just recently, which the players really liked. The upcoming Dragami title is based on the 2012 original, Lollipop Chainsaw, which follows cheerleader Juliet as she fights zombies in a high school. Released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the hack-and-slash game was a collaboration between Hollywood director James Gunn and the legendary game designer Goichi Suda.

Even though Lollipop Chainsaw didn’t get a whole lot of praise, it became the best-selling title in developer Grasshopper Manufacture’s history, shipping over a million copies. Dragami Games is already taking steps to avoid a mixed reception for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP with the studio revamping the entire combat for the upcoming remaster.
No specific platforms have been announced for the title, but hopefully, it will launch on both PC and console in the Summer of 2024.
