One Piece Odyssey Release Date Officially Announced

The chronicle of One Piece initially began in 1997 through Weekly Shonen Jump. The intricately crafted manga by the excellent mind of Eiichiro Oda was serialized and is still ongoing today.

However, the One Piece franchise did not stay confined to the pages of manga only; the series was adapted into a highly-popular anime that is still lasting after several decennia.  The well-renowned franchise also eventually made its debut in the world of video games, and One Piece Odyssey is the latest sensation.

It is the upcoming role-playing single-player entry in the One Piece universe that is shaping up to be the most faithful game of the series thus far.

The title was initially announced at One Piece’s 25th anniversary and was revealed in Summer Game Fest 2022. The alluring JRPG was initially rumored to fall in the 2022 release window. However, the game appears to have been delayed to 2023, like most AAA titles this year.

The release date for One Piece Odyssey has been officially announced in a new release date trailer that also features some fan-favorite characters. The announcement was made during the Tokyo Game Show 2022. The game is slating towards a January 2023 release. 

One Piece Odyssey is releasing worldwide on January 13th on the next and current gen platforms. The new trailer begins by revealing a cinematic sequence of the lore and eventually shows the fan-favorite Straw Hat crew losing their powers. Moreover, the benefits of pre-ordering the game are also mentioned at the end of the trailer.

The trailer ends by disclosing more information, like the Collector’s Edition, the mesmerizing “Luffy’s & Lim” Figurine. The Collector’s Edition box featuring an eye-catching design will come with the goodies mentioned in the image.

Furthermore, the trailer also confirms DLCs by making a mention in the Deluxe Pack. The pre-order bonus will feature the “Travelling Outfit set” and some in-game resources. The featured “Steelcase” also has an elegant design to it.

It’s unfortunate to see One Piece Odyssey getting delayed to next year. However, the faithful reincarnation of the series can brew to perfection in the additional months. Early next year is beginning to get saturated with planned releases, but the start of January is before the anticipated boom of 2023’s AAA releases. 

The new characters in One Piece Odyssey are also created by the original creator, Oda. The single-player-only game will immerse both the newcomers and veterans of the franchise. One Piece Odyssey is coming out on several platforms like Steam for PC,  PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
