PlayStation VR2 Will Feature 4K Resolution Display, Haptic Feedback, & Foveated Rendering

Seems outright next-gen

The PlayStation VR launched more than four years ago, offering fans a chance to immerse themselves in gaming like never before. The technology has seen a fair share of titles coming to it over time, even featuring the likes of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard although with some hiccups here and there. That is to say, the experience has been average to decent so far, but the folks over at Sony HQ are looking to bump up their VR tech and transform it into something truly next-gen.

With a futuristic console like the PlayStation 5 and that doozy of a controller DualSense, it’d be a shame not to do the PSVR2 justice in terms of build and features. Casting a lens on just that, a popular news organization that covers all things VR has come forth claiming that reliable sources have tipped an insight into PlayStation’s next-gen virtual reality headset.

UploadVR has reported that the company has been in talks with its partners regarding the PSVR2. In doing so, critical details have emerged and have been accumulated by UploadVR’s insiders. It’s said that the next-gen VR equipment is expected to ship with 4K (4000×2080) resolution, foveated rendering, and haptic feedback.

There’s also going to be a lens separation adjustment dial among other features. As for the controller, a hefty upgrade is inbound, as previously confirmed by Sony itself in a blog post. The PSVR2’s controllers are going to be built on the same technology as the DualSense, only much more advanced with attributes such as finger touch detection and refined analog sticks.

Technology is at an all-time high right now. The PlayStation has never been better, and the DualSense controller is proof enough of how things are going to proceed from here on out. We can only expect bigger and better innovations as time progresses, and nothing else.
