Sony’s XDev Team Is Looking for a Senior Producer to Develop AAA Titles

Big plans ahead

Sony’s XDev is an external development studio that helps independent development studios to publish games, mainly for the PlayStation. This team provides funding as well as services such as game design support, project management, and production to relevant developers. To date, XDev has collaborated with studios to produce games such as Heavy Rain, Resogun, the Invizimal series, and LittleBigPlanet.

According to a recent job listing, it seems that an opening for a Senior Producer is available for Sony’s XDev team in Japan. The job description reads, “Work with the best independent game developers in Japan and Asia to find, evaluate, produce and launch external products (video games) for the best possible quality and success within time and budget.”

In addition, one of the requirements from potential candidates says, “You need to understand what it takes to build and maintain good relationships with your global marketing team and build and deliver AAA titles and franchises within SIE.

XDev Europe, in particular, has been involved with big names, such as the recently released rogue-like shooter Returnal. Additionally, Detroit: Become Human came into production with the help of XDev. On the contrary, we haven’t heard much about Sony’s Japan-based XDev team, but looking into this job listing, our interest is fairly piqued as to what could come next in the following years.
