Terraria Becomes Steam250’s Highest-Rated Game and Overtakes Portal 2

The developer has publicly announced the new milestone

Some may call it a Minecraft rip-off while others will deem it downright unenjoyable, but there’s no hiding the fact that Terraria is simply adored by the masses. Combining iconic elements that spurt from the classics and giving it a touch of modern-day sandbox games, this title has accumulated an extensive array of positive reviews on Steam. To add to that is its overwhelming success and a milestone that the developers just reached for 35 million copies sold.

The developer Re-Logic took to Terraria’s official forum and made the news public just recently. Ted “Loki” Murphy – Business Strategy and Marketing Head wrote, “We remain hard at work on the litany of updates across the board as we press forward into 2021. Things are really starting to come together, and we are beyond excited for what the rest of the year has in store.

Followingly, he revealed that Terraria has now sold 17.2 million copies on PC, 9.3 million on mobile, and 8.5 million on consoles. What’s more, is that the game just swooshed Portal 2 from its throne of Steam250’s highest-rated games.

People have found Terraria to be insanely addictive. Loki says that the game has sold 5 million copies in less than a year since the Coronavirus has taken its toll on the world and more people have started staying indoors.
