Elden Ring Becomes #6 All-Time Most Played Game On Steam

In only its second week since release, FromSoftware's new RPG has become the #6 all-time most played game on Steam, surpassing New World.

Elden Ring has seen one of the biggest launches in gaming history these past two weeks. FromSoftware’s new RPG has broken records on every platform and has won the hearts of critics and fans alike. The game has lived up to its lofty expectations and sales figures in every country back that fact. The game has done especially well on Steam and its recent second-week numbers tell us how successful it has been on the platform.

Elden Ring has now reached a new all-time concurrent player peak on Steam in only its second week, with 953,426 players. The game surpassed New World which once held the #1 spot, with more than 913,000 players. But, the concurrent player crown now goes to Elden Ring. This new record makes Elden ring the #6 biggest game ever to release on Steam. This is excellent for the game considering the insane competition seen on the platform. Steam is the biggest central hub for PC gaming, so getting the #6 spot there in only 2 weeks since the game’s release is amazing.

Elden Ring is only behind PUBG, Lost Ark, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 now in the all-time most played games on Steam. But, seeing how the game is selling on the platform, it will almost certainly move up a spot or two in the near future. These numbers haven’t been seen before on a Souls game so Elden ring has brought the series a lot of new fans. Hence, FromSoftware has a bright future for the next games of the franchise.

We don’t know much about what FromSoftware has planned for the future of the game. However, considering the popularity of Elden Ring, the company will definitely be releasing something for it soon. What do you think about this? Do tell us your opinions in the comments below!
