Story Highlights
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the latest installment in the iconic Yakuza franchise of RPGs.
- The game has launched on PC to a great start, averaging more than 40,000 players since release.
- This makes Infinite Wealth the biggest RGG Studios launch on PC, and rightfully so due to its quality.
As far as the titles that well-renowned Japanese developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has pushed out, it appears that its latest venture Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has become the biggest launch in the history of the game dev on PC. Shortly after release, the title has now clocked a peak concurrent player count of 46,161 players, as per data provided by SteamDB. For reference, Infinite Wealth launched just two days ago.
To take a look at Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the predecessor of Infinite Wealth that came out about 3 years ago now, the numbers on that game pale in comparison to the latest sequel. Its all-time peak is set at 9,535 players, which occurred somewhere around the time of its release. A little higher than that was traveled by Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, a relatively recently released spin-off project, but still nowhere near Infinite Wealth.
The reviews of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth are in as well, and there are glad tidings everywhere on that front. On Metacritic, the game sits at a solid 89 Metascore, with multiple outlets remarking all the glaring positives that the JRPG comes with. eXputer reviewed the title too, rating it 4.5/5.0 overall with reviewer Usama Mehmood remarking, “Infinite Wealth is a JRPG powerhouse, delivering one of the most endearing stories to date and an aspiring open-world design.”

On the flip side, however, one major complaint that most of the playing community has with Infinite Wealth is that it locks the otherwise usually free NG+ mode behind a paywall, meaning that you have to purchase at least the Deluxe Edition of the game to be able to enjoy it. Players are obviously riled up at this idea, calling for a literal boycott of the JRPG over this matter. That doesn’t seem to be working though.
Infinite Wealth by RGG Studio came out on January 26, 2024, for most present-day platforms, including the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. New players should learn how to upgrade weapons in the game, and what the best jobs are to take in the JRPG. Oh, and if the title keeps crashing for you on PC, here’s what to do moving forward.
