Does Makarov Die In MW3 [Mystery Solved]

Learn everything about the ending and whether Vladimir Makarov is alive.

Makarov has been a villain in several Call of Duty games, and he is back in MW3 after cornering the Price’s Team, Farah, and her companions.

While Price and Soap manage to capture him, it seems it is all according to his plan, which seems way out of the picture. While Makarov is smart, it seems he knew what was happening without any explanation.

Key Takeaways
  • Makarov is the main villain of MW3, who was captured by Price and his team four years ago.
  • After escaping from the prison, Makarov wreaked havoc around the world.
  • Even in the end, Makarov doesn’t die but kills Soap and escapes.
  • MW3 ends with a massive cliffhanger, disappointing many fans.
  • While Makarov is smart, his actions and predictions aren’t justified in MW3 at all.
  • It took 16 months to develop Modern Warfare 3, so it explains the poor story and ending.
  • Activision might release a DLC to continue the story.

Unfortunately, by the end of the campaign, Vladimir Makarov didn’t die. In fact, he outplayed Price’s team and killed Soap. After doing that, he still managed to escape, making the campaign even worse. While the campaign was already underwhelming, killing Soap and the escape of Makarov just left me devastated

On every turn, Makarov has outsmarted his opponents and succeeded in his operations. While he didn’t get to release the poisonous gas at the bunker, he managed to cause destruction right after his release. In the end, Makarov escapes with just a minor injury, and MW3 ends with a cutscene of Price, Ghost, and Gaz scattering the ashes of Soap.

A Cliffhanger Ending

The ending of COD MW3 was not really justified, as it seemed Makarov predicted every move of Soap, making them all look like a bunch of fools. That being said, it ended with a cliffhanger, so there could still be some hope.

While it was a really sad ending, there should be some more missions where revenge against Makarov was successful. However, it seems like Activision is planning to release a DLC where Price and his team take revenge on the tyrant.
