Honkai Star Rail features a relic system to provide a character with buffs that can help them gain an advantage in combat and boost their usability in calyxes, forgotten halls, simulated universes, and generally in overworlds. With 20+ characters, each playable character’s Honkai Star Rail Best Relics is needed to progress to the end-game content.

Important: Gold relics can not be farmed until you reach Trailblazer level 40.

Why I Chose This Character: With boosted defense from relics, Gepard can keep my entire team alive.

When it comes to Gepard, he is essentially an Ice-based five-star character who is from the Preservation Pathand can be really handy as a defense unit based off of my experience.

Guard Of Wuthering Snow	Description

4 Piece Set	At the start of the turn, if the HP is equal to or less than 50%, then HP gets restored by 8% of the max HP, and 5 energy is regenerated.

Belobog Of The Architects	Description
2 Piece Set	The wearer’s overall defense increases by 15%; whenever the effect hit rate is 50% or higher, defense increases by 15%.

Himeko

Now, Himeko has to be one of my favorite characters, a five-star fire-based character that belongs to the Erudition Path.

4 Piece Set	The skill damage gets enhanced by 12%, and after ultimate is used, the fire damage gets enhanced by 12% further for the next attack launched.

4 Piece Set	The speed is enhanced by 6%, and primary attack damage output gets enhanced bt 10%.

Space Sealing Station	Description

Herta

One of the four-star characters is Herta, who is from the Erudition path, and she is an ice-based character.

Why I Chose This Character: March 7th can enhance defense with her relics and can also protect players by defending them.

A rather peculiar character is March 7th, an ice-based four-star character that belongs to the Preservation path, and below listed are her relics.

Why I Chose This Character: Natasha with the Passerby of Wandering Cloud can heal your characters pretty well.

When it comes to physical characters, Natasha is a four-star free-to-play character that is Physical and is from the Abundance path.

The Best F2P Wind Support.

Why I Chose This Character: With enhanced relics, Sampo can support characters in boosting their damage.

The one and oni (get it? cuz Sampo is the Itto of Honkai Star Rail?) Sampo Koski is like no other, and hisBest Relics include the one listed below. Apart from that, he is a four-star Wind-based character and belongs to the Nihility path.

Moving on, the next Lightning character is Serval, who is a four-star character that belongs to the Erudition path.

Why I Chose This Character: Seele can deal excellent Quantum damage and can render enemies useless.

Currently, one of my favorite characters to main has to be Seele as a Quantum character, who is an SS-ranked five-star character that belongs to the Hunt Path, and she has the Quantum element.

2 Piece Set	Quantum damage is increased by 10%.
4 Piece Set	When the damage is dealt to an opponent, 10% of defense gets ignored, and if the enemy is weaker than Quantum, 10% more defense is ignored.

Musketeer Of Wild Wheat	Description
2 Piece Set	The attack gets increased by 12%.
4 Piece Set	The overall speed increases by 6% while the basic attack increases by 10%.

Space Sealing Station	Description
2 Piece Set	The attack is increased by 12%, and the speed reaches 120 or more; a further 12% increases it.

Sushang

The Best F2P Physical Four-Star DPS.

Why I Chose This Character: Sushang can deal good Physical damage for being a f2p unit.

If the battle lacks a Physical character, Sushang is one hell of a cracked unit, as she is a four-star Physical character in the Hunt Path and is one of the best supports after I tried her out.

2 Piece Set	Physical damage gets buffed by 10%.
4 Piece Set	After the wearer gets hit or launches an attack, the attack is bumped up by 5% for the rest of the duration of the battle and can stack 5 times.

Space Sealing Station	Description
2 Piece Set	The overall attack is bumped up by 12%, and if the speed reaches 120 or passes over 120, then the attack is increased by a further 12%.

Physical Trailblazer

As the trailblazer begins their journey, they are met with the Physical Trailblazer (Stelle, you’re too pretty for this world), a five-star character that will belong to the Destruction Path.

Fire Trailblazer

The Best Late-Game Fire Defense Character.

Why I Chose This Character: With enhanced relics, Fire Trailblazer can provide excellent guarding from enemy attacks.

2 Piece Set	Defense is enhanced by 15%; if the effect hit rate exceeds 50%, the wearer gets an extra 15% defense.

Tingyun

My very own Tingyun is a four-star Lightning-based character that belongs to the Harmony path and is excellent. Below are the main Honkai Star Rail Best Relics that will work on her.

Welt

The Best Imaginary Weakness Break Character.

Why I Chose This Character: Welt can easily cause Weakness Breaks to enemies, making them weaker when equipped with the right relics.

Moving on, another character that should not be overlooked is Welt, a five-star Imaginary-based character that belongs to the Nihility Path and is a supporting character in my opinion.

Wastelander Of Banditry Desert	Description
2 Piece Set	Imaginary damage gets increased by 10%.
4 Piece Set	When launching attacks against de-buffed opponents, the crit rate increases by 10%, and crit damage increases by 20% against enemies imprisoned.

Talia Kingdom Of Banditry	Description
2 Piece Set	The overall break effect increases by 16%, and if the speed reaches 45 or goes beyond that, then the break effect gets enhanced by a further 20%.

Yanqing

Last but not least, Yanqing is an Ice-based five-star character, an excellent DPS part of the Hunt and is excellent in my experience.

Similar Relics

Many relics suit different characters, the following can be used in place of the other relics mentioned above:

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace (Hanya, Bronya, Yukong): This relic increases movement speed by 6% which is good for players who relocate a lot.
Firesmith of Lava-Forging (Guinaifen, Hook, Himeko): It increases fire damage by 10% which is good for players using characters that deal fire damage.
Longevous Disciple (Fu Xuan, Blade, Huohuo): This relic is useful for Tanks that must have high HP as it increases HP by 12%.

My Thoughts On The Best Relics In Honkai Star Rail

After spending 8+ months, my personal favorite relics sets include the Musketeer set as it is able to enhance attack, and any relics that can boost attack and enhance HP.
