Elden Ring is the latest instalment to the Souls series from FromSoftware and is one of the best games out there right now. However, being a Souls game, it also follows the premise put forward by its predecessors — or not, as argued by some players. That debate will forever continue, but the fact of the matter is that some players do find the game difficult to play. So, modders have found a way to go around the problem by creating a mod that lets players play the game on easy mode.
Yapped Rune Bear, the creator of this mod, shared the original files on GitHub. Later, it was reshared by a notable mod website, NexusMods, under the title “Easy Mode for Elden Ring” (you can find it here). The mod started getting recognition from that website, and more and more players started trying it out. The mod features distinct characteristics which set it apart from the typical easy mode mods for the games; hence its popularity.
There are three distinct pointers in the notes provided for the Elden Ring easy mode mod. Firstly, it reduces the incoming damage to the player by 50%. Secondly, the player does 25% more damage to the adversaries. Lastly, the player gets ten times the amount of runes.
In a typical easy mode mod, the modder simply increases the damage that a player deals by a certain amount, making it easier for the player to kill the adversaries. However, the Elden Ring easy mode mod does three things to give the game a more realistic feel. Hats off to the creator of the mod for keeping the players in mind and creating the mod accordingly.
The mod is inspired by “Sekiro Easy Mod,” which had different files affecting different aspects of the game. However, the easy mode mod for Elden Ring combines all the aspects and files them into a single mod to create more balanced and easy gameplay. The mod did a brilliant job indeed, making the game more presentable to a bigger audience.
