Helldivers 2 Director On Halo Comparison: “Just Let Gamers Love And Enjoy Both”

The Helldivers 2 studio CEO Johan Pilestedt has recently condemned a fan for comparing the game with the Halo franchise on Twitter . The post was claiming the new indie giant to be superior to the Xbox first-party series, which rubbed Johan and many other gamers the wrong way. So, the creative director addressed the post and clarified that such comparisons do more harm and produce divisions within the fans, reducing the overall unity.

Why compare? Just let gamers love and enjoy both, either or neither. We need more compassion and union in the world, and less rivalry.

The Helldivers 2 dev believes that there should be more compassion and unity in the gaming industry compared to rivalry. Many gamers who prefer one console over the other end up pitting their franchises against each other, claiming theirs to be better than the other. It is overall a harmful activity for the community, as per the CEO.

Although Johan agrees that friendly rivalry can be quite important, as long as it stays friendly, however. The creative director also points out that neither monopoly nor cut-throat competition makes the world a better place when it comes to business.
