The Last of Us Part 1 v1.0.5.1 for PC has gone live, improving general stability and squashing tons of bugs. Although the patch would seem underwhelming for some players, it has fixed a major bug that caused a crash on boot on some Intel Arc GPUs. The patch also introduces stability improvements for some AMD GPUs. Overall, the update focuses on and seeks to greatly enhance the gaming experience for Intel Arc and AMD GPU users.

The update has fixed a recurrent issue that affected all Intel Arc GPUs. If you use one, you may know that a crash occurred on boot, and while the previous update failed to address this issue, it seems like Naughty Dog has gotten rid of it in this update. This is huge for all who could not enjoy The Last of Us Part 1 on PC, as they now have fewer bugs to worry about.

There are also some stability improvements to refine the extended playthrough experience for many AMD GPU users. After this update, we can see that Naughty Dog is focusing on player feedback and has continued to bring updates to slowly and gradually fix The Last of Us Part 1 PC port. Nevertheless, a plethora of bugs still need attention, and perhaps one day, after many updates, the PC port will reach a satisfactory state.

On a side note, The Last of Us franchise has made over a billion dollars in revenue, making this one of Sony’s “billion-dollar franchises.” After witnessing tremendous success with various projects, it seems like Naughty Dog might have started development on The Last of Us Part 3, as we have known for a while that the studio already prepared a rough script for the iteration.
