Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown while quite isn’t what fans expected of Ubisoft when it came forth with the announcement during the Summer Games Fest, it’s looking to be a fairly enjoyable 2.5D side-scrolling platformer, due for release later in January. As of late, the developer has released a brand-new trailer for the title, which revolves around The Lost Crown’s Deluxe Edition and the content it encompasses.
From the looks of it, players will be eligible to receive the Immortals Outfit, the Prosperity Bird Amulet, and a Digital Adventure Guide as part of their purchase of The Lost Crown’s Deluxe Edition, along with the base game, of course. The variant costs $59.99 and can be pre-ordered from the Ubisoft Store at the moment. There’s a special “Warrior Within” outfit available too as a pre-order bonus for players.
Oh, and Deluxe Edition players get to play 3 days early, so there’s that. If you’re a Ubisoft+ member, however, which is the company’s very own video game subscription service like Xbox Game Pass, expect early access to The Lost Crown all the same. In case you’re not aware, Ubisoft+ is $14.99 a month and packs a library of over 100 playable games.
For those not in the know, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the first Prince of Persia game in a decade that Ubisoft is finally about to launch worldwide. The developer has also been slaving away at a remake of The Sands of Time — the 2003 classic and one of the best iterations in the franchise — for a while now, but it’s apparently undergoing troubled development, and has been delayed indefinitely as of 2022.

Ubisoft, outside of releasing the Deluxe Edition trailer, has also doubled down on the game’s accessible design in another video uploaded on YouTube. The side-scroller won’t be featuring any Quick Time Events (QTEs) it seems, and the emphasis on other accessibility-oriented features will be present right out the gate, such as the availability of a High Contrast mode and customizable difficulty.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is set to make landfall on January 18, 2024, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game traces its announcement back to 2023’s Summer Games Fest.
