Ubisoft Paris hasn’t really bounced back from its latest installment to the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It could not deliver what the audience wanted from the series as the critics, as well as the audience heavily criticized its designs for the missions, or mechanisms in general. However, it seems like Ubisoft Paris is going to bounce back, as suggested by a job listing that we discovered in February. The job listing sparked the speculations for a new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon game for next-generation consoles, and it seems likely as suggested by industry inside Shpeshal Nick.
In a recent episode of the Xbox Era Podcast, accredited industry insider, Shpeshal Nick, mentioned that Ubisoft Paris is leading a brand new first-person shooter AAA title. When asked if this new IP was reaching back to the Tom Clancy franchise, Nick said that he wasn’t sure. This also suggests the possibility of a brand new IP and not another Tom Clancy installment, but as Nick stated, we can’t be certain yet.
Nick also noted that the game is in its very early stages of development, and Ubisoft can also cancel it. Nick concluded the whole speculation by saying, “They just said AAA first-person shooter by the Ghost Recon’s Wildland’s team, which I think is Ubisoft Paris.” There is not a lot to take from the information provided to the industry insider, but one thing is for certain, Ubisoft Paris is set to make a comeback.
The job listings we found earlier, however, were more specific when suggesting the details. We also reported back in December 2021 that Ubisoft Paris Mobile is working on an unannounced new AAA shooter game for mobile, and both these projects could be correlated somehow. Of course, all this information is to be taken with a grain of salt.
