Guardians of The Galaxy Dominates UK Sales Charts at No.2

Guardians of The Galaxy has been a great success for Square Enix, with the game ranking at No.2 in the UK sales charts, beaten only by FIFA 21

Guardians of the Galaxy has been a massive success so far in more ways than one. The game has received strongly favorable reviews as well as done wonders in clearing Square Enix’s name after the disappointing launch of The Avengers. It seems that gamers out there also think the same, as the game is being widely praised for its wonderful writing, characters and boppin’ 80’s soundtrack.

According to data from GFK (Via Gbiz), Guardians of The Galaxy has been a great success for Square Enix, with the game ranking at No.2 in the UK sales charts, beaten only by FIFA 21. The game also largely dominated on the PS5 in comparison to the other consoles. Taking note of just the physical copies, Guardians of The Galaxy has sold 63% of its total physical sales on the PS5, with 19% on the PS4 and 18% on the XBOX

Ubisoft’s latest Far Cry 6 is still going strong while being No.4 on the sales charts, overtaken by Mario Party Superstars and Guardians of The Galaxy, meanwhile Rider’s Republic debuts at No.8. Nintendo’s Mario Party Superstars also comes into a great start at No.3. It has to be mentioned that these are strictly the physical copies for the game as digital data has not been revealed.

The top ten for the GfK is as follows:

Guardians of The Galaxy has been a pleasant return to form for Crystal Dynamics, while its no Deus Ex, its a great action romp with engaging writing, decent combat and striking visuals. Here’s hoping that with the success of Guardians of The Galaxy, we will one day see the end of Adam Jensen’s saga as well.
