The King Of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition Released On PS4

The remake of the classic game is coming to the current-generation console.

Crossover fighting games have really come into the trend in the past decade or so. Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo Switch is probably the best-known example of this genre. Other wildly popular games include games like the Marvel vs. Capcom series and Street Fighter X Tekken.

Warner Bros. is also releasing a fighting game with the name of MultiVersus soon. Hence, the genre is really thriving nowadays in modern gaming. Therefore, it’s good to know that one of the original games in this genre, The King Of Fighters is still around.

It has been around since 1994 and the SNK crossover fighting game is still going strong. We recently saw the release of the fifteenth game in The King of Fighters series just a few months ago. Recently, one of the older games in the franchise is seeing a brand new release on a current-generation platform.

The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition is releasing on the PlayStation 4 today. It was originally a remake of the 1998 game for the PS2 but it also came out on Steam in 2014. Some other platforms also have the game, so seeing it also released on the PS4 is very nice to see.

We first found out about the game’s launch on PlayStation 4 through a rating from PEGI. The European rating board rated The King of Fighters ’98 for the PS4 just today, which was a surprise to everyone. Another rating board called the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee also rated the fighting game for PS4

PEGI rating for the game

As the rating goes on to say, this is the updated version of The King Of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition and has much more than the base edition, with extra characters and stages present in the game. You can also play the original version alongside this updated version of the game.

Seeing the game get a rating all of a sudden from two different sources was definitely surprising. But, everyone was more taken aback by how The King Of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition has already come out on the PlayStation 4.

It’s available on the PlayStation Store to buy for anyone and that is rare to see for newly rated games. You can buy the game for just $15 on the PlayStation Store. The game is amazing and an arcade classic for all generations so that price is basically a steal for it.
