The Abyssal Hook is one of the most potent melee weapons in the Awakened King DLC of Remnant 2. I’ve personally used it a ton and ranked it one of the best in my DLC Weapons guide. Although the recent patch notes have noticeably nerfed the Hook, it’s still extremely versatile and a useful weapon to have.
- The Abyssal Hook is a melee weapon obtainable in Remnant 2’s Awakened King DLC.
- Its Weapon Mod, Fathomless Deep, grants +10% Melee Stagger for each Charged Attack up to 3 times.
- Players can find the Abyssal Hook in the Drowned Wen by following the straight path onto the area’s first checkpoint.
- From there, go to the sewers, then climb the ladder on the first right to reach a small tunnel, and the weapon should be lying deep inside.
How To Get The Abyssal Hook In Remnant 2
Players can get the Abyssal Hook in the sewers area of the Drowned Wen dungeon, accessible via the Awakened King DLC.
Unlike most other top-tier weapons in this DLC, you can’t miss the Abyssal Hook by making any in-game decisions. However, the challenging part is getting to the Drowned Wen, which you can reach after going through both the Forlorn Coast and the Sunken Haunt dungeon.
- From the World Stone, head down the alleyway and continue the straightforward path onto your first checkpoint just before the docks.
- After taking the checkpoint, turn around and go up the staircase between the houses on your left, then take the downward path that leads you to the sewers.
- Climb the ladder on your right as you enter the sewers to reach a boneyard and kill the 2 Manticora enemies here.
- Go through the tunnel on your left, and you should see the Abyssal Hook standing next to the wall on your left.
Abyssal Hook’s Stats And Abilities
DAMAGE | CRIT HIT CHANCE | WEAK SPOT DAMAGE | STAGGER MODIFIER |
---|---|---|---|
101 | 6% | +85% | 80% |
One of the core selling points of the Abyssal Hook in Remnant 2 is its unbelievably high stagger rate. The melee’s Weapon Mod, Fathomless Deep, grants +10% Melee Stagger after a Charged Attack for 5 seconds. This ability can stack up to 3 times, meaning you can get a whopping +30% Melee Stagger! For context, the second most stagger-heavy melee weapon can only do +13% Melee Stagger.

That wraps up my brief guide on how to unlock and upgrade the Abyssal Hook in Remnant 2. While this weapon is still viable for PvE and PvP, I’d recommend carefully looking at future patch notes since the recent ones really gunned down the Abyssal Hook. It’s a shame, too, since the melee is extremely fun to use against minibosses. For more details on the Hook’s changes, check out this YouTube video for a hands-on experience.
