Mods in Remnant 2 have the ability to improve basic ranged and melee weapons, giving them more effects in combat. These mods can turn even the simplest weapons into powerful instruments of destruction. However, due to the wide variety of mods, selecting the right one for specific situations is difficult.

Key Takeaways
  • Mods in Remnant 2 improve the best weapons and provide additional combat effects.
  • Players can acquire mods from Ava McCabe in Ward 13, but crafting requires specific materials.
  • Choosing the Best Mods is crucial in Remnant 2 as they cannot be sold once acquired.

1. Fargazer

The Mod with Madness Debuff.
Fargazer
Fargazer – [Image Credit: eXputer]
  • Why I Chose This: Summons an eye that makes enemies go crazy. It can give them up to 10 Madness stacks, causing damage over 30 seconds.

First, I would recommend trying out Fargazer, a mod that summons an eye capable of inflicting enemies with the Madness debuff. This unique ability focuses on your target while aiming, delivering up to 10 stacks of Madness per enemy, each dealing gradual damage over 30 seconds. Unlike facing Legion, with this mod, you’re the one wielding its power.

To Obtain Fargazer

  • Craft the mod at Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Required crafting materials: Agnosia Driftwood, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.
  • Agnosia Driftwood is a special crafting material dropped by Legion in Yaesha.

Fighting Legion

  • The version of Fargazer used by Legion is significantly more potent than the mod’s version.
  • The boss fights with Legion can be challenging due to additional enemies during the encounter.
  • However, Legion has an easily identifiable weak spot that allows you to attack from afar.
  • Swiftly dispatching the enemies while evading attacks should make defeating the boss manageable.

2. Hot Shot

The Mod that Increases Effective Range.

Hot Shot is maybe the best elemental weapon mods in my opinion that elevates your shots, providing a 15% boost in range damage for 20 seconds while imbuing the burning effect upon striking enemies. This mod proves advantageous against both regular foes and formidable bosses.

  • Why I Chose This: Boosts your shots, giving a 15% increase in range damage for 20 seconds. Also, sets enemies on fire when you hit them.

To acquire Hot Shot

  • Craft the mod at Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Required crafting materials: Root Ganglia, 1,500 Scrap, and 5 Lumenite Crystals.
  • Root Ganglia, a unique crafting material, can be obtained as a drop from Remnant 2 first boss, allowing early access to Hot Shot.

3. Skewer 2.0

The Mystical Spead Adding Mod Mod.
best mods remnant 2 Skewer 2.0

  • Why I Chose This: Throws a magical spear, dealing 125 damage on contact with enemies. Explodes for an extra 140 damage after a few seconds, affecting nearby foes in a small radius.

Next, I suggest trying out Skewer, a mod that launches a mystical spear, embedding itself upon contact with anything. Striking an enemy, the spear instantly deals 125 damage and later explodes for an additional 140 damage after a few seconds, affecting nearby foes in a small radius. If it hits a wall or an object, the spear will still explode, but without inflicting the initial damage, as it requires a living target.

Craft Skewer

  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Gather the required crafting materials: Dread Core, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.
  • Dread Core is a unique crafting material acquired from Venom in Root Earth, making it a special and valuable component.

Fighting Venom

  • Venom presents a formidable challenge as a versatile boss with unpredictable movesets, lacking exploitable weaknesses.
  • There is no one-size-fits-all solution for dealing with this boss, requiring adaptability and quick thinking.
  • The visual clutter during the fight can be disorienting, demanding focus and awareness to comprehend the events on-screen.

4. Time Lapse

The Mod to Immobilize Enemies.
Time Lapse

  • Why I Chose This: Freezes enemies in a six-meter radius for seven seconds.

Introducing the Time Lapse mod, a powerful tool that unleashes a freezing six-meter blast, immobilizing all standard enemies for seven seconds. Breaking the frozen foes with damage triggers the Time Lapse effect, applying Slow for the remaining duration.

Crafting Time Lapse

  • Available for crafting from Ava McCabe.
  • Crafting requirements: Broken Timepiece, 5 Lumenite Crystal, 650 Scrap.
  •  You will get the Broken Timepiece after successfully completing the clock tower puzzle in Morrow Parish on Losomn.

Clock Puzzle In The Lemark District

  • Upon reaching the clock puzzle in Remnant 2’s Lemark District, you’ll discover a notebook on a table, instructing you to “look at the clocktower” for the answer.
  • Leave the room and return to Morrow Parish to find the Clocktower and read the time. The Clocktower is situated next to a tall chimney.
  • Once you have the correct time, head back and set it on the clock.
  • Acquire the gear and return to the Clocktower in Morrow Parish.
  • Ascend to the top of the Clocktower and insert the gear received from the clock puzzle.
  • Climbing the Clock Tower may take some time, but eventually, you’ll find an elevator to ease the journey.
  • Upon reaching the top, input the gear to activate the Clock Tower and claim your reward.
  • You will get the Broken Timepiece as a reward, which is used to create the Time Lapse Weapon Mod.

5. Voltaic Rondure

The Mod With Energy Ball Ability.
Voltaic Rondure

  • Why I Chose This: Launches an energy ball dealing 20 Shock damage to enemies in its path for 20 seconds.

I’ve included a potent mod that propels a ball of energy, inflicting Shock damage upon all enemies in its path is Voltaic Rondure. Though the orb moves slowly and has a small radius, it remains active for an impressive 20 seconds. During its duration, the ball of energy deals 20 Shock damage and applies Overloaded, resulting in periodic explosions that harm both the targeted enemy and nearby foes.

To Craft Voltaic Rondure

  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Gather the necessary crafting materials: Bone Sap, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.
  • Bone Sap, a unique crafting material, can be obtained from the Bloat King in Losomn.

Defeating Bloat King

  • The Bloat King, the source of Bone Sap, presents a formidable challenge as a boss that spawns numerous enemies throughout the fight.
  • Prepare with adequate Shock Resistance before facing the Bloat King, as getting Overloaded is highly likely otherwise.

6. Song Of Eafir

The Mod that Allows to Throw Projectiles.
Song of Eafir

  • Why I Chose This: Fires a projectile that staggers ground enemies in a wide radius, dealing 150 damage to flying foes.

A formidable mod that launches a projectile capable of staggering most ground enemies within a wide radius around the impact point is Song of Eafir. Although the projectile doesn’t inflict direct damage on ground enemies, it deals a significant 150 points of damage to flying foes.

Additionally, this mod creates a debuff zone upon impact, lasting for 15 seconds, which subjects targets to Slow and reduces their damage output by 15% throughout the duration.

To Craft Song of Eafir

  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Gather the necessary crafting materials: Scroll of Binding, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.
  • The Scroll of Binding, a unique crafting material, can be acquired by solving the secret song puzzle in Yaesha. Interacting with the Flautist afterward will also grant you the Scroll of Binding.

Unleash the power of Song of Eafir and watch as your enemies face the staggering force of its projectile and the debilitating effects of the debuff zone.

7. Witchfire

The Mod With FireBlast Projectile.
best mods remnant 2 Witchfire
Witchfire – [Screenshot by eXputer]
  • Why I Chose This: Fires an exploding projectile that leaves a scorching fire trail. Enemies passing through it suffer 55 Fire damage per second with an extra 200 damage over 10 seconds.

Next in my list is the Witchfire, a powerful mod that launches a projectile, exploding on impact and leaving behind a scorching fire trail. Enemies passing through this fiery path suffer 55 Fire damage per second and become afflicted with Burning, a negative status effect that deals an additional 200 damage over 10 seconds. Although the trail lasts merely five seconds, skillful timing can ignite one or two enemies in the process.

To Craft Witchfire

  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Gather the necessary crafting materials: Alkahest Powder, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.
  • Alkahest Powder, a unique crafting material, can be obtained from Gwendil the Unburnt in Losomn.

Despite her unburnt nature, Gwendil relentlessly attempts to set the player on fire. Equip armor with good Fire Resistance and have a couple of jars of Mud Rub at your disposal to tackle this fiery foe. Unleash the power of Witchfire and watch as your enemies succumb to the blazing fury of your incendiary attacks.

8. Defrag

The Mod the Empowers Ammunition.
Defrag best mods remnant 2
Defrag – [Image by eXputer]
  • Why I Chose This: Enhances ammunition to inflict Fragmented on enemies for 5 seconds. Fragments dropped by defeated enemies provide a 20% damage buff for 15 seconds when picked up.

Next, I would recommend trying Defrag mod, as it empowers all your ammunition with the ability to inflict fragmented on enemies for 5 seconds. When an enemy infected with fragmented perishes, they leave behind a glitch for 5 seconds, which can be either picked up or destroyed:

  • Picking it up grants a 20% damage buff for 15 seconds.
  • While destroying it creates a 5-meter wide virus pool dealing 25 damage per second and inflicting fragmented on any enemies that come in contact with it for 15 seconds.

To Craft Defrag

  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop.
  • Collect the necessary crafting materials: Necrocyte Strand, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.
  • Necrocyte Strand is acquired by defeating Cancer in the Ashen Wasteland on Root Earth.

Defrag is one of the Remnant 2 best mods, offering various advantages such as a damage buff, area-of-effect damage, and the potential to spread the fragmented effect further, leading to a deadly cycle.

9. Stasis Beam

The Mod that Adds Continuous Beam Attack.
Stasis Beam best mods remnant 2
Stasis Beam – [Screenshot by eXputer]
  • Why I Chose This: Emits a continuous beam dealing 15 damage per second and applying Slow to the targeted enemy.

One of the Remnant Best Mods is Stasis Beam, which projects a continuous beam, dealing 15 damage per second while applying Slow to the targeted enemy. By focusing the beam on the same enemy for at least 3 seconds, you can entirely freeze the target for 10 seconds.

Although Stasis Beam won’t freeze bosses, it works effectively on most other enemies, including powerful Elites. The best part is with sufficient Mod Power. You can maintain the beam for an extended duration.

To Craft Stasis Beam

  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Gather the required crafting materials: Stasis Core, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.
  • The Stasis Core, a unique crafting material, can be obtained by completing the Zombie Cave event in N’erud.
Important: Note that the event’s appearance is not guaranteed in every playthrough. When it does occur, it presents an underground facility infested by zombies. Eliminate the zombies, explore the dungeon, and claim the Stasis Core at the end.

With the Stasis Beam mod in your arsenal, unleashing the unyielding power of continuous freezing keeping your foes at bay, and securing victory in the face of formidable adversaries is an easy task.

10. Corrosive Rounds

The Mod that Adds Toxic Properties to Ammunition.

Like Hot Shot, Corrosive Rounds imbues your ammunition with toxic properties. Striking enemies with toxic ammunition corrodes them, inflicting 100 damage over 10 seconds. Though the damage is half that of Hot Shot, Corrosive Rounds remains a solid option, especially if you possess it.

  • Why I Chose This: Ammunition imbued with toxic properties corrodes enemies, dealing 100 damage over 10 seconds.

Craft Corrosive Rounds

  • Defeat Magister Dullain and craft it with Ava McCabe.
  • Required crafting materials: Tainted Ichor, 5 Lumenite Crystals, and 500 Scrap.

11. Space Crabs

The Mod that Launches Alien Eggs.
Space Crabs
Space Crabs – [Image Credit: eXputer]
  • Why I Chose This: Fires an alien egg releasing five Space Crabs to engage nearby enemies. The Crabs explode upon contact, dealing 60 damage each.

Personally, I like the Space Crabs mod as it launches an alien egg that cracks upon impact, setting loose five Space Crabs that engage nearby enemies. These Crabs focus their attacks on targets in close proximity to the point of impact and explode upon contact, dealing 60 damage each. Although the individual damage might not be remarkable, the advantage lies in having five summonable creatures that can benefit from certain items and Traits.

Craft Space Crabs

  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop in Ward 13.
  • Gather the necessary crafting materials: cracked shell, 5 lumenite crystals, and 500 Scraps.
  • The Cracked Shell, a unique crafting material, can be obtained as a drop from the Primogenitor on N’erud.

While the Primogenitor might not be a formidable boss, it is accompanied by a swarm of smaller critters during the fight. To prevail, equip weapons and skills that excel in AoE or cleave damage to manage the overwhelming numbers.

12. Astral Burst

The Mod that Launches Shotgun-Like Blast.
best mods remnant 2 Astral Burst
Astral Burst – [Image by eXputer]
  • Why I Chose This: Unleashes a blast of seven star fragments, each dealing 35 damage. Fragments bounce off walls up to three times, with each bounce increasing the damage by 35%.

One of my best crowd-control weapon mods in Remnant 2 is Astral Burst, which serves as a valuable escape option during overwhelming situations. Upon activation, you release a shotgun-like blast comprising seven-star fragments, each dealing 35 damage.

These fragments can bounce off walls up to three times, with each bounce increasing the damage by 35%. Mastering this mod requires quick geometry skills and precise aiming to maximize the damage after at least a couple of bounces, but once mastered, it can make you feel like a genius.

Acquire Astral Burst

  • Venture into Yaesha and collect the Faith Seed.
  • Visit Ava McCabe’s workshop to craft Astral Burst.
  • The required materials for crafting Astral Burst include Faith Seed, 5 Lumenite Crystal, and 500 Scrap.

Find the Faith Seed in Yaesha at the Cathedral of Omens

  • Align the triangle lever to the face left, the icons lever until the doe is in front of you, and the circle’s lever until the Ravager, doe, and death are encircled with the doe having two circles.

This mod proves particularly effective when facing enemies in caverns, tunnels, and narrow corridors.

My Take On Remnant 2 Mods

In Remnant 2, there are numerous options when it comes to applying mods to the game. Some of them are useful, while others are just for fun and trying out enhanced features that you can not try by default. These mods are the ones that I found most useful, so try them out and make your gameplay experience better.

That’s it on the Remnant 2 Best Mods you can get. However, you will also need the Best Starting Class as there are a lot of Classes and Archetypes. Moreover, making the best build also requires the Best Amulets and Rings.
