Lethal Company has stood out as 2023’s biggest multiplayer horror sensation last year and shows no signs of slowing down. Now, the dev Zeekerss has already released the brand new patch version 47 as 2024’s first update. It adds a variety of new content and tweaks many properties, including monster behavior and the beloved shovel. One of the biggest additions is arguably the weekly moon challenges, which are replayable by everyone.
Many in-game events, such as the lightning strikes, inverse teleporters, items in gift boxes, and scrap item locations, are now based on a random seed. In other words, the spawn locations will not be static anymore. A new type of hallway to the factory map type is also included in the update. Additionally, the Lethal Company update tweaks the behavior of many enemies, making them more fair yet difficult to handle.
The new patch also features a slew of fixes that make the Lethal Company experience much smoother than before. The shovel collisions are more instant, making it feel lighter to use. On the other hand, landmines will no longer instantly explode. Items cannot be dupped anymore from gift boxes, and their chance to spawn has been decreased. On the flip side, the Christmas decor and theme have been taken down from the game.

The last update brought the hilarious arachnophobia mode, which replaced spiders with the word “Spider.” While this update is on the smaller side, the next one will allegedly bring major content additions. Zeekerss said that patch 50 would seemingly add a plethora of new creatures and map variation. Nonetheless, it was mentioned to be a long way away because of some personal changes in the dev’s life.
Lethal Company came out in early access for PC on October 24, 2023. The indie title rapidly ascended the Steam charts and rose to fame in November. As a result, it was able to hog Steam’s “Better With Friends” award, which is a huge milestone for a game in early access only. eXputer’s Muhammad Haris Umer reviewed the multiplayer horror with a remarkable 4/5 score, praising it for a fun gameplay loop and unique visuals that stand out.
