Team Ninja Announces Great News For Rise Of The Ronin Players

Rise of the Ronin is one of the more eclectic AAA releases of 2024, coming out earlier in the year for the PlayStation 5 exclusively. In recent times, Team Ninja — the developer — has confirmed that its latest venture is going to be the next title to receive the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” treatment. This makes Rise of the Ronin another addition to the increasing library of titles specifically cut out for Sony’s upcoming console.

Outside of the many things that Rise of the Ronin gets right, including its narrative gameplay, player freedom that genuinely matters, and great combat, one of the things that pulled the title’s reputation down at launch was its frame rate imbalance. The game, on certain occasions, looked absolutely atrocious, although Team Ninja took to improving the action-adventure not long after that. 

Here’s hoping that the PlayStation 5 Pro will lay waste to all those concerns and then some.

Koei Tecmo — the publisher — projected the game to sell at least 5 million copies, but the Rise of the Ronin turned out to sell even better than that. In May this year, Koei Tecmo released an investor’s report, where it was confirmed that the title has sold even more than the Nioh games, crossing the 7-million mark, and rightfully so. 

eXputer reviewed Rise of the Ronin, rating it 4/5, with author Haris Umer remarking, 

Despite its shortcomings, trust me when I say it: Ronin’s gameplay, bosses, and traversal mechanics keep you hooked until the end.” 

PS5 Pro’s Pre-Orders Are Underway As More Games Become Optimized

The PlayStation 5 Pro is building up quite the catalog of enhanced titles prior to its release. So far, Lies of P, God of War Ragnarok, and Alan Wake 2 have chimed in on the discussion, with Rise of the Ronin being the latest addition to the list.

The console — coming with the PSSR tech, 2 TB storage, an improved GPU, and more upgrades —  will make landfall on November 7, 2024, with a price tag of $699.99.
