Elden Ring offers a plethora of weapons to help its players in combat and make the boss battles easier. You will find many weapons in the Lands between, from having the best bows to swords. You can choose any weapon that is suited to your build. One such weapon is the Godslayer’s Greatsword. This Colossal Greatsword belongs to one of the Legendary Armaments in the game, and this sword scales with Dexterity, Strength, and Faith. You’ll find this weapon early in the game, by beating the Godskin Apostle. But locating this sword is a challenge in itself. But you don’t have to worry anymore as our guide below will help you find the Godslayer’s Greatsword location in Elden Ring.

Key Highlights

  • Godslayer’s Greatsword is one of the Legendary Armaments in Elden Ring.
  • It can be found in the Divine Tower of Caelid.
  • First, clear the enemies outside the tower using bows then head inside the tower on foot and use Torrent for jumping between ledges.
  • One inside travels downwards via stairs, elevators, and ledges. Keep descending until the ground floor is reached.
  • Defeat Godskin Apostle and open the chest, found in the room next to the boss to claim the weapon.

How To Get Godslayer’s Greatsword

This weapon is great for dealing fire-based damage to enemies. You can find this Colossal Greatsword in the basement of the Divine Tower of Caelid map. This tower is located near the Dragonbarrow West Site of Lost Grace in the north-central area of the map. To enter the Divine Tower of Caelid, you will have to climb it first and then make your way to the entrance. This mini-dungeon should only be taken on once you’re above level 60.

Arriving at Divine Tower of Caelid

The first step to finding the location of the Godslayer’s Greatsword in Elden Ring is to go to Caelid. You will see some roots that extend from the mainland to the Divine Tower. There are two ladders here and there is an enemy beside them too so watch your step. Try countering these enemies using ranged weapons so you don’t fall off. A good option is to use some of the best bows in your arsenal to kill these enemies. Follow these roots to the precipice of the Divine Tower and climb up.

Do not make the mistake of climbing the second ladder immediately after you’ve climbed the first one because there is a gap here in the arched path to your right and you can possibly fall down. Mount your Horse and double jump to cross this gap. Now climb the ladder at the end of this path.

Finding the Site of Lost Grace

Go left from the top of the ladder and go straight ahead. You’ll come across many gaps which you can cross easily by performing a double jump. You will also find a Site of Lost Grace at the end of this path where you can rest a bit.

At the north of the Site Of Lost Grace, there are some stairs that lead to the activation point of the Great Rune of Radahn. Now to get to the Godslayer’s Greatsword, head south and go down the stairs. Keep an eye out for the Redmane soldiers at the bottom of the stairs. There would be one hidden around the corner waiting to attack you.

Now drop down the ledge and make your way down the bottom of the great pit. To your left, there will be a caged elevator that would be guarded by the Redmane soldier. Your path will break at one point but don’t worry as you’re supposed to fall down here. You will take no damage from this fall.

Now you’ll need to go up using the elevator in the tower and go straight down the hallway. Go up the ladder and you’ll see a door that is the shortcut to the last Site of Lost Grace. Moving further down you will come across a black flame monk. While he possesses damaging incantations, he is not a big threat and you can easily counter his incantations with your incantations.

Once you reach the end of the hall, jump out on the ledge that will be to your left side and follow the path around the tower. The path will break again and you’ll fall for the second time and get more damage from it. In case, it glitches and you do however end up dying, just go back through the shortcut and go to the elevator.

Now you’ll have to pass another Site of Lost Grace and pass by another Blackflame Monk until you finally reach the boss arena of Godskin Apostle.

Godskin Apostle Boss Battle

In order to get to the Godslayer’s Greatsword, you will have to fight the Godskin Apostle boss to access the treasure chest. You can use some of the best Spirit Summons for this fight because he can give you a tough time. A good strategy is to use Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War as shown in the image below.

One major weakness of this boss is bleed damage. So a good weapon with great bleed damage can help you win this battle easily. Once you have defeated him you’ll get 14,000 runes and the Godskin Peeler Twinblade as a reward.
