Elden Ring Pyromancy Build: Armor, Weapons, & Talisman

Our Elden Ring Pyromancy Build guide entails the best talisman, armor set, weapons, and incantations you should have to melt enemies.

If you have an inclination towards the fire in Elden Ring, casting raw flames from hand, or just want to look way cooler in co-op mode, then our Elden Ring Pyromancy build guide will get you started to become the ultimate flame god in the game.

Key Takeaways
  • Pyromancy builds revolve around dealing heavy damage through Fire incantations and Strength Weapons.
  • The best starting classes are the Confessor class or the Prophet class due to their high Faith stats.
  • Prioritize leveling up Arcane and Faith attributes as your primary stats, while keeping Arcane at level 40-45 and Faith at level 30-35.
  • For your secondary stats, focus on leveling Mind and Vigor both levels 35-40.
  • The weapons recommended for the Pyromancy build are Serpent God’s Curved Sword and Blasphemous Blade, both of which highly complement this build.
  • These weapons can be found at Ruin-Strewn Precipice and Roundtable Hold ( trading Remembrance of the Blasphemous).
  • The Sacred Seal that makes the Pyromancy build shines the most is Dragon Communion Sacred Seal.
  • The armor set that is best suited for the Pyromancy build is the Silver Tear Mask.
  • The Talismans that are a must-have for the Pyromancy build are Fire Scorpion Charm, Flock’s Canvas Talisman, Godfroy Icon, Marika’s Scarseal, and Ritual Sword Talisman.
  • Our favorite Fire Incantations when it comes to the Pyromancy Build are Flame Grant me Strength, Giantsflame Take Thee, Flame Fall Upon Them, Burn O Flame!, Flame Sling, and Catch Flame.
  • The optimal playstyle of the Pyromancy build revolves around staying at a range from your enemies and using Fire incantations to burn them away. This build provides the perfect balance with incantations that can deal with common enemies as well as bosses.
  • It is recommended that you use Cerulean Flasks over Crimson Flasks due to the high-mana consumption of this build.

Pyromancy Build In Elden Ring

Build And Gear Locations Pyromancy Elden Ring
complete guide about Elden Ring Pyromancy Build And Gear Locations

Our pyro build guide will walk you through equipping the proper equipment or gear which involves selecting the right weapon combination, the best armor sets, sacred seals, and talismans. Besides the basic nitty-gritty of Pyro build that we have mentioned below, the character attributes and incantations are two sides of the coin without which this build will not exist.

Leveling up the proper attributes will scale your fire damage of incantations and will also give you decent damage output on strength weapons as well. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the core details of making the best pyromancy build in Elden Ring.

Character Attributes

An effective Pyro build will need the highest Arcane and Faith character attributes. Leveling up these two should be your primary concern and if you’re to transition from the early-to-mid and late-game using just the pyro build, then we’d suggest investing in these two attributes as early as possible. Otherwise, if you’re onto another build, you can always respec using Larval Tear and fill up the stats that we have listed below.

Arcane

Considering you’re making this Elden Ring pyromancy build at SL100 or 120, you will need to invest at least 40-45 levels or points into Arcane. It is because most of the pyromancy incantations that we have listed here will require Dragon Communion Seal to be effective. And this Sacred Seal scales significantly better than most seals in Elden Ring.

On top of that, the Dragon Communion Seal also scales well with Arcane first and Faith later. So, leveling up Arcane should be made a priority if dealing fire damage the most is your priority while running Pyromancy build in Elden Ring. While you’re at it, why not read our Elden Ring best Arcane build and see how much OP an arcane build can get in the game.

Faith

Faith and Arcane both go hand in hand to create the ultimate pyro build in Elden Ring. While leveling up Arcane is the utmost priority in this build, you should also consider investing runes into Faith as well. Ideally, your Faith levels should be in the range of level 30-35.

Having this high Faith level will also allow you to use a few health-replenishing incantations as well. Even though using Holy incantation is not the scope of pyro build in Elden Ring. Nevertheless, it is nice to have options instead of wasting a larval tear to respect everything.

Mind

Dealing high fire damage onto enemies comes at the cost of high FP or mana consumption in Elden Ring. A greater FP bar will ensure that you do not run out of mana quickly before reaching the nearest Site of Grace from beating the boss to death.

That being said, investing runes into the Mind attribute is equally important as leveling up the Faith and Arcane. Also, you must level up the Mind character attribute up to level 40 at best. Doing so will give you enough FP bar to use at least two to three times a high FP-consuming fire incantation.

Vigor

Besides leveling up the Arcane, Faith, and Mind, leveling the Vigor is equally important. Otherwise, you would end up making up a glass cannon pyromancy build that is excellent and deals damage but gets destroyed in one or two shots. To avoid an imbalance of stat leveling, you must put at least 30-35 levels into Vigor, and wear medium-load armor that offers mediocre physical and elemental resistance against incoming attacks.

Armor Sets

Pyromancy is mostly a ranged combat engagement kind of a build. That being said, for a playstyle that does not involve direct melee encounters is safe to equip any armor set pieces. That is why we don’t have particular armor set preferences when it comes to running in The Lands Between as a Pyro build main. However, there is one head armor piece that you should equip regardless of the rest of our armor set pieces.

Silver Tear Mask, the head armor piece, grants you additional eight points into Arcane if you equip it. Other than that, you can mix and match the rest of the armor set to your liking. It can be a complete armor set minus the headpiece or a mix of set pieces from a unique combination of armor sets. Whatever you go or the armor set you to pick, wearing the Silver Tear Mask is a must so that you get an extra Arcane character attributes boost without having to actually invest points into it.

Obtaining the Silver Tear Mask will require you to first beat Radahn’s boss who is located in Caelid. If you find this boss too challenging for your level, you should read our Elden Ring Radahn cheese guide so as to beat him easily.

After beating this boss, you’d get access to Nokron, Eternal City. You must reach there and beat the Mimic Tear boss to obtain the Mimic Tear Ashen Remains and the Silver Tear Mask as well.

Moreover, Elden Ring offers tons of armor set variety and we do have our preference when it comes to aesthetic point of view. Since we’re creating a Pyro build in the game, the armor set should reflect the overall character’s personality. Not that it matters that much but it is how we think a pyro build tarnished one should look.

We find the following armor sets to be the best for a pyro incantations caster: Blackflame Monk armor set, Blue Cloth armor set, Champion armor set, Depraved Perfumer armor set, Drake-Knight armor set, Fire Prelate armor set, and last but not least the Fire Monk armor set.

Which armor set would you want to use with a pyromancy build in Elden Ring? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.

Weapons

Casting Incantations back-to-back will requires the pyromancy build to have more Cerulean flasks than Crimson. So, keeping this equation under consideration, players would want to rely on other means or methods of replenishing the lost health. We have perfect weapon combinations that you’d need to use on the field to kill enemies and steal their health.

Serpent God’s Curved Sword and Blasphemous Blade are our best go-to weapons when it comes to running a Pyromancy build in Elden Ring. Both weapons are considered some of the Best Swords in Elden Ring and they give you health when you kill enemies, and the amount of health you get back is not enormous, not until you buff it up by equipping a few talismans that give you back more health.

Obtaining the Serpent God’s Curved Sword will require you to reach Ruin-Strewn Precipice. Once you’re there, you’d encounter a lady singing who actually will be a semi-human, semi-bat. After beating this first of enemy, you’d need to climb up and you’d come across the same enemy type.

This time turn to your right and climb up the ladder instead of engaging in combat with this semi-human and bat enemy. Take the path that leads ahead after climbing the ladder and you’d come across small land octopus enemy types accompanied by a big one sitting at the far end. The Serpent God’s Curved Sword can be collected behind this enemy.

Acquiring the Blasphemous Blade does not require you to explore places or reach at a point and collect the weapon. Instead, you will get this weapon after trading Remembrance of the Blasphemous item with Enia located at Roundtable Hold. Now, to acquire this item, you will need to beat Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy who can be found in Mt Gelmir. Here is an image of the boss’s location. Dragon Communion Sacred Seal

Dragon Communion Seal In The Game (Screenshot Captured by eXputer)

We highly recommend using the Dragon Communion Sacred Seal to cast all the fire-related incantations of Pyro build in Elden Ring. Not only obtaining this weapon is a less strenuous task, but the sacred seal itself also scales significantly better than Faith and Arcane scaling in the game.

Upgrading Dragon Communion Seal will require Somber Smithing Stones and leveling it up to +10 will give you the highest amount of Faith and Arcane scaling. The weapon requires at least 10 Faith and 10 Arcane and has D Faith and C Arcane scaling. It also means that you’ll need to invest more runes into Arcane attribute instead of Faith to properly scale this weapon and make it your go-to sacred seal in Elden Ring for the pyromancy build.

Finding the Dragon Communion Sacred Seal is very easy and it is something that can be done very early in Elden Ring if you have two Stonesword Keys in your inventory. At the very beginning of the game near the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace, you’d find double Imp Statues. If you use two keys, the fog wall will disappear, giving you a smaller area with an annoying mechanized chariot enemy to traverse.

You need to go up to avoid getting hit by this Chariot otherwise it will one-shot kill you. Anyways, after reaching up you’d encounter an enemy in a small room. Beat this enemy and you will get the Dragon Communion Sacred Seal as a reward.

Talismans

Making a build in Elden Ring requires you not only to equip the proper weapons and armor sets but also to acquire the best talismans that complement your character’s attributes. Without these necessary talismans, the pyro build that you create will have ineffective performance. That is why we have listed here the best talismans you should pick if you want to be the ultimate flame god in Elden Ring.

Fire Scorpion Charm, Flock’s Canvas Talisman, Godfroy Icon, Marika’s Scarseal, and Ritual Sword Talisman are must-have talismans for the Pyromancy build in the game. We understand that you can only use four talismans from your inventory at a time but we recommended five.

That is because can always swap out Ritual Sword with Fire Scorpion Charm if you prefer a ranged weapon playstyle. The former does not have the negative effects of wearing the talisman, however, the latter negates physical damage, making you susceptible to taking more incoming damage. Other than that, all five talismans are powerful in Elden Ring and they provide excellent support to Pyromancy build as well.

Fire Scorpion Charm can be collected after visiting Mt. Gelmir’s Fort Laiedd. After entering the fort, you’d encounter a big-sized enemy, behind him will be the ladder that will take you up towards the rampart. The talisman can be collected from a wooden platform there.

Flock’s Canvas Talisman can be acquired by completing Millicent‘s questline. This talisman drops from Gowry, who you pay a visit to after defeating Millicent.

Incantations

Incantations For Pyromancy Build (Image by eXputer)

Casting fire incantations is the bread and butter of playing with the Pyromancy build in Elden Ring as you’d need to rely less on melee weapons. When it comes to defeating bosses, taking out small enemies on land or in the air, or helping out other tarnished ones, pyromancy incantations take the cake. This playstyle has some of the most offensive incantations to use in the game, and we have listed the best ones here that you should have in your Pyro build.

Flame Grant Me Strength, Giantsflame Take Thee, Flame Fall Upon Them, Burn O Flame!, Flame Sling, and Catch Flame are our top pyromancy incantations to use in Elden Ring. These are some of the best spells that will buff your character, tackle a crowd by casting Aoe incantations, and triumph in one-to-one combat easily. Moreover, the Elden Ring’s Patch 1.03 has reduced the spell casting of lots of Sorcery spells and we believe fire incantations have also received a few changes in the mana consumption department.

Pyromancy Build PlayStyle

The basic playstyle for this build is designed to be a ranged combat engagement. Most of the time you’d need to approach enemies without them having notice your presence. After that, you will need to cast the highest damage-dealing fire incantations and melt them. Of course, it all depends on the type of scenario; if you’re approaching an unaware crowd, then cast in an area of effect fire incantation will give you the best results and will probably wipe out the entire crowd in one go.

Also, the same goes for the boss encounters, as you’d need to strike the perfect balance between casting long incantations or short ones depending on the time frame you get to attack back the boss.

Relying on your melee weapons will be a less priority and you’d only need to hack and slash enemies for the sake of stealing their health. Otherwise, pyromancy or fire incantations will be your bread and butter for combat encounters with enemies.

Using Cerulean flasks more than Crimson ones should be the priority since open-world exploration can take quite some time before you reach a boss battle, and you need the mana to melt enemies. This approach changes if you’re to fight a boss because you will not have enemies around you to kill and replenish your lost health. So, strike the perfect balance between Cerulean and Crimson flasks while fighting field, mini-bosses, and Shard bearers.

Pyromancy is an excellent build in Elden Ring if you’re invading other tarnished players. It is because you have a wide variety of fire-based spells to buff self-damage and hurl small to large AoE fire attacks via throwing fireballs. Other than that, a few fire incantations will simply throw your invaders off guard if they get too close to you since most people are not familiar with the Pyro build playstyle in Elden Ring.

Tips

Pyromancy build really shines when you’ve most of the incantations that we listed above. Of course, you cannot perfect this build in the early to mid-game, since the most powerful incantations can be acquired after reaching the mid-to-late game. On top of that, only Soulsborne veterans will willingly jump into this playstyle since it demands a greater understanding of how to properly utilize the fire-based attacks.

Overall, if we were to put Pyro build in one sentence, our first impression would be: “Challenging to make a build, satisfactory to melt everyone in PvE and PvP combat, and the cool-looking build while doing co-op with friends and fellow tarnished ones. That is one long sentence but it pretty much sums up our impression of a Pyromancy build in Elden Ring.
