A Sub Camp From OutSideThe Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Sub Camp is a structure that acts like a Base or Main Camp. However, they are smaller in size and are well hidden in the maps so, which makes them harder to locate. The Sub Camps have all the features of the Main Camp except for a few exceptions.
Here’s all you need to know about MMR Sub Camps:
Region | Number of Sub Camps | Location |
---|---|---|
Shrine Ruins | 1 | In Zone 10 on a mountain near a lake |
Forest Islands | 2 | In Zone 6 inside a pit to the northeast, Between Zone 8 and Zone 10 |
Sandy Plains | 2 | In Zone 7 and Zone 8 |
Flooded Forests | 1 | In a hollow on top of a mountain towards the east in Zone 11 |
Lava Caverns | 3 | On the ravine’s left side in Zone 6, On the northeast side of the volcano in Zone 10 |
Jungle | 1 | In Zone 8 |
Citadel | 1 | Cave entrance of Zone 5 |
The Sub Camps are mainly used to travel fast in Monster Hunter Rise. However, they also can be used to eat food, improve or swap your gear, and make use of the Buddy Board. Now that we have acquired a basic understanding of the Sub Camps, we will discuss how you can utilize each feature efficiently.
Fast Traveling
The most useful feature that you will be using the most probably is the Fast Traveling ability of the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Sub Camp. This feature will help you to follow through a farming route or to farm the monsters more effectively, as you can travel between the farming spots instantly.
Food Source

Another very useful feature of the Monster Hunter Rise Sub Camp is that you can eat food at the Sub Camp if, for some reason, you forget to eat from the Main Camp Canteen. At the Sub Camp, you can enjoy every type of food that is available at the canteen. However, you can not benefit from the Daily Specials as they are unavailable in the Sub Camp.
Item Box
Next, you can also access your Item Box at the Sub camp, which means that you can change your gear and access any type of items, weapons, decorations, and armor that you might have stored in the Item Box.
Buddy Board

The Sub Camp is so generous that it gives you access to your buddies in case you forgot to set them before your hunt at the Main camp. This feature is offered to you through the Buddy Board, which gives you full access to your Buddies.
Supply Boxes In Sub Camps

Unfortunately, the only feature that we think should have also been included in the Sub Camp is not available in the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Sub Camp. However, this was expected as they had to make the Sub Camps a bit different than the Main Camp.
Unfortunately, this also means that you can not deliver heavy items at the Sub Camps; instead, you will have to travel to the Main Camp to return the heavy items. Also, at the Monster Hunter Rise Sub Camp, you can not receive the free items that you are rewarded with after completing a quest.
How To Unlock A Sub Camp

Normally, when you start your hunt in Monster Hunter Rise, the game will start you off at the bottom of the map, meaning you will have to travel to your desired location on a palamute or foot. However, the developers have placed up to two Sub Camps to make it convenient to fast travel around the map.
These Sub Camps are usually very well hidden in Monster Hunter Rise, and to unlock these Sub Camps for your convenience, you must first find them. Once you have located the Sub Camp, you will be given a quest by the Kagero the Merchant upon returning to the village.
Next, you will have to complete the quest, which revolves around two main tasks. Either you will have to slay some monsters, or you might have to deliver some specific materials to the merchant. The monsters and materials depend on which Sub Camp you try to unlock. After completing the quest, you will unlock the Sub Camp as a fast traveling point.
How To Fast Travel Through The Sub Camps
Now, to fast travel in the game through the Sub Camp, you will have first to open the fast travel menu in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. This can be done by holding the minus button “-” and then pressing “A” to open the fast travel menu.
Now, you just have to select the Sub Camp that you want to travel to, given that it has been unlocked. Once you select your destination, the game will hop you on a wire bug and fly you to your desired destination.
Monster Hunter Rise All Sub Camps Locations

To unlock Jungle Sub Camp, you will have to complete a Kagero’s quest just like in the base game. This time you will have to complete a security quest where you will have to slay 8 Hermitaur in the new Jungle map.

Other Game Tips
Monster Hunter Rise is a game that is divided into several maps that are usually not very large. And with the new Sunbreak Expansion came new maps, thus new Sub Camps. However, you still would not want to run across the entirety of the map. That is why the developers added a structure to the game called the Monster Hunter Rise Sub Camp. The Sub Camp is a structure that is a point you can use to fast travel to and from. However, it is not as simple as unlocking it by just finding it.
Monster Hunter Rise is a very combat-based game, so the main focus is more or less always on Farming Money, acquiring Best Weapons, and Best Armor. The game also offers some unique builds to enjoy, like the ever-mighty Long Sword Build, Dual Blade Build, Heavy Bowgun Build, Hammer Build, and Great Sword Build.
If you can not decide on a build for yourself, then read our Builds Guide to get a better understanding of some of the builds. If you choose the Heavy Bowgun Build, why not look at the Best Heavy Bowguns.
Now, if you were trying to level up faster in Monster Hunter Rise, then try farming materials like Gold Lite Ore, Fucium Ore, Awegite Ore, Thunder Sac, and Inferno Sac.
