The players can only obtain the weapon in Chapter 7 after progressing a bit. Like other weapons, it has different upgrades, each with five upgrade levels. It excels at precision and can be used with multiple scopes. Therefore, you can cover a lot of range with the Stingray. 

How To Get The Stingray 

Stingray can be obtained in Chapter 7 quite early on in the game.

You must locate the merchant in Chapter 7 to buy the weapon from him. The price for the Stingray in the Resident Evil 4 Remake is 30,000 pesetas. You will be able to buy the weapon at the start of Chapter 7 as well as midway into it. 

Going To The Castle

• Continue forward to reach another staircase.
• A cutscene will trigger with cultists shooting arrows; eliminate them, especially if you have the Stingray.
• Proceed upstairs and eliminate additional cultists before advancing.

Obtaining The Weapon 

After getting past the cultists, you must keep moving forward until you find a Cannon. 

• You will need to shoot the chain in order to lift the cannon up in the air. 
• You can use this cannon to attack the cultists and move past them. 
• After successfully defeating the cultists, you will need to head toward the castle gate. 
• Now, you can go through a new path and make your way inside the castle.

  

• You can spot a second merchant to your right as soon as you enter inside. 
• Here, you can get the Stingray semi-automatic rifle and other important equipment you need. 

Stingray Perks 

If you want to make Stingray your main weapon, it is important to consider some pros and cons. 

Pros

Stingray is one of the best RE4 Remake weapons that will help you clear out crowds of cultists and even mutants and monsters easily without getting any damage yourself.

• Stingray is suitable for endgame with its powerful stats.
• Affordable at 30,000 pesetas in mid-game.
• Semi-automatic rifles, especially Stingray, are great against hordes of enemies. 
• Starts with modest stats but becomes formidable through upgrading.
• Effective against higher-level enemies as the main or primary rifle.
• Stingray is ideal for ammo conservation in major battles, using low-tier weapons alongside it.
• Easy to handle as a semi-automatic rifle compared to SR M1903.
• Boasts high reload speed and power, especially compared to the CQBR.
• Fires twice as fast as the SR M1903, and there is no need to adjust the aim between shots.

Weaknesses 

Below are some weaknesses you should consider before making the Stingray your prime weapon:

• SR M1903 is more powerful when fully upgraded, outclassing Stingray.
• Stingray offers a rapid shooting window, while SR M1903 provides a delay for aiming adjustments.
• SR M1903 suits players accustomed to sniper rifles with shot delays.
• CQBR surpasses Stingray in Rate Of Fire and Ammo Capacity.
• For a Precise Assault Rifle with the Best Rate Of Fire, Stingray falls short.
• SR M1903 excels in Power, dealing great damage regardless of the body part hit.
• Stingray is not ideal for close combat as it is designed for distance shooting.

Upgrades For Stingray 

The players will be able to use five different upgrades with five upgrade levels each for Stingray, making it even more powerful. Each of these upgrades has different costs depending upon the current Upgrade Level, and they will affect the assault rifle differently as well. 

Power Upgrade 

By increasing and investing in the power upgrade, the players will be able to improve the explosive range of the Stingray assault rifle significantly. This will also play a major role in increasing the damage done by the rifle.

Thanks to its five upgrade levels, the players will be able to invest in Stingray to make it the most powerful sniper rifle in the game. The highest power upgrade for the Stingray rifle will cost you around 50,000 Pesetas. 

Ammo Capacity Upgrade 

The highest upgrade to increase the ammo capacity of Stingray will cost you around 25,000 pesetas. The players can invest in this upgrade if they want to increase the ammunition capacity of the sniper rifle. They can choose to upgrade all the way to the 5th level if they want to fire more rounds on their enemies. 

Rate Of Fire Upgrade 

Rate of Fire is definitely a good investment, especially for Stingray, and it can upgrade all the way to level 5 as its last upgrade will cost you only 30,000 pesetas. 

Reload Speed Upgrade 

By investing in the upgrade, you can utilize multiple rounds with each reload of your sniper rifle.

Therefore, the players can shoot without any break when they have upgraded their reload Speed. The level 5 reload Speed upgrade will cost the players around 19,000 pesetas. 

Exclusive Upgrade 

By investing around 60,000 pesetas, the players could improve their Rate Of Fire further. This exclusive upgrade will double the rate of fire and make Stingray a deadly weapon to maneuver.
