Final Fantasy 16: Scarleitite [How To Get & Uses]

The Scarleitite in FF16 is a rare material, used to craft specific items and one must know how to obtain this material.

Scarleitite in FF16 is one of the many resources in Final Fantasy 16 that are used to craft weapons and items for Clive. However, unlike most resources, the Scarleitite is a bit trickier and harder to obtain; therefore, one must know how to obtain this item, especially if you wish to craft the Excalibur, which is a recurring and somewhat iconic Final Fantasy weapon.

Key Takeaways
  • Players can obtain Scarleitite as a reward from specific side quests and Notorious Hunts.
  • Players can unlock these hunts after completing story quest #31- The Release.
  • Out of the 32 Notorious Hunts, only 4 of them reward the player with Scarleitite.
    1. Dozmare- Griffin
    2. A Hill To Die On- Fastitocalon
    3. The Ten Of Clubs
    4. The Man In Black- Holy Trumpitour
  • Scarleitite is used to craft weapons and armor, such as the Excalibur and Darkslayer Armor Set.

How To Obtain The Scarleitite

Scarleitite is a rare material, and there aren’t many ways to obtain it. The most well-known way to obtain them is to get them as rewards from side quests or Notorious Hunts, which are found on the Hunt Board.

In order to unlock these hunts, players would need to complete the Main Quest #31- The Release. One piece of advice I would like to give you is that be sure to stock up on potions and elixirs because these hunts are no walk in the park.

Out of the 32 Notorious Hunts, only 4 of them reward the player with Scarleitite. Here, we will enlist their name and let you know what to expect in each of these quests.

  • Dozmare- Griffin
  • A Hill To Die On- Fastitocalon
  • The Ten Of Clubs
  • The Man In Black- Holy Trumpitour

Needless to say, completing these hunts may also grant you Ability Points; consider reading the best Abilities in Final Fantasy 16 guide.

Dozmare- Griffin Hunt

In order to unlock this hunt, players would first need to reach main quest #35- Here Be Monsters, and then they will need to start the side quest- Blacksmith’s Blue. As they progress through the quest, only then will the Dozmare Hunt will unlock. Then they will need to talk to the Moogle by the Hunt Board and start the hunt.

If you wish to reach your target, players would first need to travel to the Holy Empire of Sanbreque. The Griffin itself resides at south of the Caer Norvent River Gate

The hunt is Rank B, and Dozmare is level 28, so be sure to prepare first before you take on this beast. Aside from the Scarleitite, players will also obtain 8500 Gils and 20 Renowned Points from this Hunt.

Before players can start the “A Hill To Die On” hunt, they will need to complete the main mission #41- Riddle Of The Sands. The monster is located in the Dhalmekian Republic region.

I will recommend fast traveling to the Dalimil Inn. From there, exit the inn and head straight into the desert. The Fastitocalon resides in the top right corner of the map, past the Bandit’s Bed.

This is, again, a rank B hunt and a level 32 monster. Defeating this monster will net you 10,000 Gils and 20 Renowned Points alongside a Scarleititre FF16.

The Ten Of Clubs

In the Ten Of Clubs hunt, you will not be fighting any monsters but rather a fellow warrior. In order to unlock this hunt, you will need to finish the main quest #52- Things Fall Apart. Your target in this hunt is also located in the Dhalmekian Republic region.

Once there, I will recommend fast traveling to either the Dravozd Obelisk or the Kretov Obelisk. From there, enter the Fields of Corava and head into the Vamare area, which is located somewhat at the bottom right corner of the fields.

This is also a B rank hunt, and your opponent’s level is 35. Players will net 9200 Gils, 20 Renowned Points, and a Scarleitite after completing this hunt.

The Man In Black- Holy Trumpitour

As for the last hunt that rewards the players with a Scarleitite, players would first need to complete the main mission #56- Clock And Dagger, and then complete the side quest- For Great Justice II.

Your target resides in the Holy Empire of Sanbreque. The exact location of your target is a bit tricky to reach. Players would need to first fast-travel to the Lostwing Obelisk and make their way underground. Then they will need to proceed through the Cellar Passage. Once they get spewed out from the other side, they will see their target right in front of them.

This is also a rank B hunt, and your opponent is of level 36. The bounty for this hunt is 9600 Gils, 20 Renowned Points, and of course, a Scarleitite.

The Holy Trumpitour hits extremely hard, so I will recommend focusing on your dodges. Consider reading the How To Dodge Attacks in FF16 guide.

What Is Scarleitite Used For?

As we stated previously, the Scarleitite is used to craft new items in FF16, but allow us to elaborate further on that. Scarleitite is rare and is used to craft a few certain items, including the Excaliber, which is considered one of the best mid-game weapons in FF16. While we are on the topic, consider reading the guide Best Weapons in Final Fantasy 16.

Scarleitite is also used to craft the Darkslayer Armor. Before I end my guide, you should know that completing hunts is not the only way to obtain Scarleitite. It can be obtained from side missions as well. So far, I have only found the “Hot Waters” side quest that rewards the players with a Scarleitite.

And that neatly wraps up my guide on Scarleitite in FF16, what it is used for, and how to obtain it. I hope my guide helped you out. Your opponents in these hunts are no easy prey, and you need to focus at all times if you wish to survive; why not read the Best Combos in FF16 guide, in case you are having a hard time? If you’re still new to Final Fantasy 16, then we have a Best FF16 Tips guide as well for beginners like you.
