This is the game's debut week.

Story Highlights

  • Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is Ubisoft’s latest venture into the action-adventure space.
  • The game has launched to a good start in the UK, landing the top 5th spot on the boxed charts.
  • It’s only been 5 days since the game came out on both current-gen consoles and PC.

Ubisoft has been making strides with its latest venture in the space of action-adventure, now that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is enjoying full-scale release. According to Gfk, a well-renowned market research company, the game has landed in the top 5th spot on the UK’s boxed charts this year, meaning that its debut is off to a fairly admirable start, competing against the likes of Spider-Man 2 and Minecraft.

It bears mentioning that Frontiers of Pandora is a new entry on the weekly top sellers list, hopping directly on the fifth number while overtaking the likes of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Nintendo Switch Sports, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and even Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch. Placed higher than Avatar are the following titles, enlisted in an order of higher to lower:

  • EA Sports FC 24
  • Super Mario Bros Wonder
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Of course, these are some of the juggernauts that are probably not getting deranked anytime soon for the rest of 2023. A little over four weeks ago, Modern Warfare 3 topped the UK’s boxed charts, followed by EA FC 24 clocking similar success in terms of sales and overall player count. That said, the fact that Avatar made it on the list within a week of its release seems it’s going to do just fine commercially.
