More details will be revealed in early 2024.

Story Highlights

  • Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition has finally been officially announced by Ubisoft.
  • The devs have also confirmed that the leaked version does not reflect the final release.
  • It is slated to release in early 2024, but no specific release window has been confirmed so far.

Ubisoft has confirmed that the rumored Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is indeed happening. The devs took to Twitter to affirm its existence and a number of other details in a vague manner. More news is slated for early 2024, and it appears a release date will also fall under the same time period. The studio was quick to acknowledge the massive leak that happened yesterday, which likely compelled it to make an announcement.

The game, owned by a few players, is still playable after it was taken down from the store. As a result of the leak yesterday, some users gained access to the leaked version via the subscription service Ubisoft+. However, the team alleged that the leaked version does not reflect the final version in any way. We can expect the final version to be filled to the brim with new gameplay changes that are not available in the leaked version.

An early development version of Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition was recently released to some Ubisoft+ subscribers by mistake. We apologize for any confusion and want to assure our community that this version is not indicative of the final game,” reads the tweet.

We can expect to hear more details from Ubisoft in the near future. As per the previous ESRB rating leak, it is expected to come out for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S and Series X, and Switch. No Xbox One version was included. There have been multiple iterations since the original release, including the HD version in 2011 and the new 20th anniversary edition. Details about the sequel are still up in the air, however, with no recent updates.
