Bloodborne Sold 7.5 Million Copies As Of Early 2022, Confirms Leaked Doc

The leaked sales data is limited to 2021/2022 only.

Story Highlights

  • Bloodborne and other Sony first-party game sales have leaked online because of the recent Insomniac hack.
  • The game sale data is limited to early 2022 only and features entries both for PS4 and PS5.
  • Bloodborne sold 7.5 million copies until early 2022, and Days Gone followed with 7.3 million.

The recent Insomniac Games ransomware attack has caused many details about its publisher to be divulged in the process. As a result, the sales data about a slew of PlayStation first-party games has surfaced. While Sony has been quiet about one of its most popular titles, the leaked data shows that Bloodborne has sold 7.5 million pieces as of early 2022. The leaked slides have spread like wildfire across forums like ResetEra and Reddit.

The outdated and older sales chart is still able to provide a glimpse into many other Sony first-party exclusives, including Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, and more. Days Gone has sold over 7.3 million units as of early 2022, standing behind other major releases and cementing its place as one of the most underrated franchises by the publisher. Ghost of Tsushima is surpassed closely by Bloodborne, rolling over a staggering 7.4 million copies.

Bloodborne is Souls-Like at its fullest, mixed with eldrich horror and broken spirits alike.

Most of the other game sales are already known to the general public. As a result, the leaked data is not a viable source for many of the PlayStation titles today. It is still a nice change of pace for the Bloodborne fans, however, since Sony is known for not updating the sales data for the nostalgia-inducing entry.

It is worth noting that sales of the hardcore Souls-Like may even have increased by a million or more in the last year. The fans have made the following guess since the stats for all the included games are only limited to PS4 and PS5 and show data for early 2022. Bloodborne’s popularity has surged in the following years since its arrival instead of experiencing a downfall. As a result, many rumors have sprouted regarding the future of the series.

A slew of recent rumors have suggested that a Bloodborne movie is in the works at Sony. The details are still relatively unclear. On the other hand, the God of War dev previously stated that a remake or remaster of the game is in the brewer. Again, it is far from officially confirmed, so we suggest taking the hearsay with a pinch of salt. Until then, try out Bloodborne with an unofficial 60 FPS patch mod on the PS5, provided it is hacked.

Bloodborne came out on March 24, 2015, for the PlayStation 4, following its launch in other regions over the next few days.
