Fans Are Not Happy With The Latest Armored Core 6 Patch Nerfing Three Main Bosses

Armored Core 6 patch v1.02 also buffed kinetic weapons, alongside the nerfs to bosses.

Story Highlights

  • Armored Core 6 patch v1.02 has nerfed three of the most challenging main bosses.
  • Fans aren’t happy with these nerfs and are glad that they were able to fight the pre-nerf versions of these bosses.
  • Fans are also expressing their disappointment regarding the nerfs over social media.

The latest Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon patch v1.02 has sparked some controversy by nerfing three of the main bosses: BALTEUS, SEA SPIDER, and IB-01: CEL240. The majority of the fans aren’t too happy with these recent adjustments and have taken to social media to express their opinions about the changes in difficulty.

FromSoftware also nerfed Radahn, an optional boss fight from Elden Ring, a while after its launch. The pre-nerf Radahn was an exhilarating, intense, and difficult fight. However, after the nerf, the optional boss became much less difficult and less challenging, making fans who had fought him pre-nerf slightly disappointed with the overall changes. But FromSoftware released an update afterward, making the boss a challenge once again.

Armored Core 6’s bosses weren’t difficult without reason. The infamously huge difficulty spike BALTEUS helped by preparing players for further difficult challenges that were yet to come. Besides BALTEUS, the SEA SPIDER and IB-01: CEL240 were also fun and challenging fights pre-nerf. However, with the right build, you could still thrash these bosses with ease.

While many fans were disappointed with the recent changes, some were grateful for the nerfs as it made it easy for them to progress through the story. This also raises another question of whether toning down the difficulty of the game and making it more accessible for the audience was the right move by FromSoftware or not.

Armored Core 6 was released on 25 August for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC. Armored Core 6, developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, comes about a decade after Armored Core 5 and features excellent customization options for fans.
