Hasbro Developing A “Really Cool D&D Game”; Will Follow In Baldur’s Gate 3 Footsteps

Wizards of the Coast's parent company claims that Baldur's Gate 3 showed the high demand for D&D games.

During an interview with Games Radar, Hasbro’s head of game studios, Dan Ayoub, has clarified that it is working on a “really cool D&D game” that wants to follow the same path as Baldur’s Gate 3. In other words, the devs want to focus on high-quality and long development cycles without rushing things. Hasbro is “taking a similar approach with the internal titles.” 

Our Montreal studio is working on a really, really cool D&D game. We’re going to be able to start talking more about that hopefully soon,” said Dan Ayoub.

The Hasbro exec has deduced a few points from the success of Baldur’s Gate 3 that it wants to utilize for its internal in-dev projects. On a side note, the Wizards of the Coast’s parent company is also invested in Larian Studios and has recently shown interest in working together with the team.

We’re all super excited by the reaction to [Baldur’s Gate]. I think it proved for us that people really want great D&D games. We’re certainly doing that.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 Has Touched The Hearts Of Gamers And Devs Alike

The massive RPG has cast a love spell on the gaming industry. It has towered over Steam Deck’s 100 most-played games charts for the last 12 months straight and sold over 10 million copies since launch. With Hasbro’s peaked interest, the game may just start a resurgence of the D&D genre in the industry.
