Helldivers 2 Studio Boss Shoots Down Rumors Of Acquisition By Sony

Helldivers 2 dev Arrowhead Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt has recently addressed the growing rumors of acquisition on Twitter. The speculation quickly spread through the far stretches of the gaming industry before ultimately reaching the ears of the CEO. The growing trend of acquisitions has also played a key role in making it sound feasible, but Johan has declared it as completely “fake.”

It is quite unlikely for Arrowhead Studios to be acquired by Sony, especially at this stage. The giant conglomerate is laying off about 900 of its staff across various PlayStation studios, after all. Additionally, Johan has earlier claimed that Arrowhead is an independently owned studio and is not under the Sony umbrella.
