New Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Glitch Makes Peter Run Like Naruto

The game is otherwise a largely bug-free experience.

Story Highlights

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the latest work of art from the side of Insomniac Games.
  • While the game is largely bug-free, some bugs and glitches tend to pop up sometimes.
  • A new glitch hilariously turns Peter’s arms back and makes him run like Naruto from the anime.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the biggest releases this year that had anticipation rolling for it ever since it was announced at 2021’s State of Play. The action-adventure title has kept fans high-spirited with a smooth gameplay experience, but a new glitch seems to be trying to change that in hilarious fashion. @who0407oki on X (previously Twitter) has turned Peter into Naruto from the anime.

While clearly unintentional, the bug glitches one of New York’s Spider-Men in an eerie way, with Peter’s arms facing backward in the aftermath of him ramming into a wall while riding a bicycle. The sequence is strange for sure, but not as uncanny as what it leads to—a Naruto-inspired style of web-swinging that does more harm than good. For reference, here is how folks in the Naruto anime sprint.

I will say that in an era that features broken releases abundantly, with even big names such as Forspoken and The Last of Us Part 1 PC joining in on this front, Spider-Man 2 has remained a bug-free venture for the most part. That said, it’s not like the title has been totally exempt from its fair share of issues. Head over to the r/SpiderManPS4 subreddit and you’ll find multiple posts reporting various glitches in-game.

That said, Insomniac Games is dedicated to ensuring optimal playability for Spider-Man 2, dropping patch after patch in an attempt to do just that. The last update for the game went live on the 1st of November and brought a number of fixes in its wake, so players could progress through the mainline story uninterruptedly.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on October 20, 2023, for the PlayStation 5 as a first-party game. In our review, eXputer rated the title 4/5, calling it yet another PlayStation exclusive.
