The Falchions are extremely popular and useful in Elden Ring. This is the type of Bleed Affinity curved sword in Elden Ring that does insane amounts of blood buildups. Falchion ranks highly in the entirety of the best weapons in Elden Ring apart from the Curved Weapons. All the Slash attacks help towards the bleed of the curved sword in Elden Ring, so it is best to add bleed-based Ashes Of War as well.

Pros

  • Adding Bleed Affinity increases the chances of causing bleed effects.
  • Performing back rolls during heavy attacks allows for dodging slash attacks.
  • A dexterity-based build paired with dual-wielding the falchion can be highly effective.
  • Infusing the Falchion with Bloody Slash induces significant blood loss.
  • Versatile and suitable for various builds.
  • Minimal stat requirements make it easy to wield regardless of your class.

Cons

  • It is only this great against smaller enemies as it cannot get by with bigger bosses.
  • Getting through the big armors of opponents can be really hard.

Location

  1. Most of the Demi-humans roaming around the underground are found wielding Falchions.
  2. To specifically farm these Falchions and dual-wield, you can just Mistwod Outskirts Grace.

Okay, so by the looks of it, you can see that this could be named the Curviest of Curved sword in the game. It is unique due to the fact of its versatility. This blade is kind of like curvy whip-like animations that make it a good option to use against a horde of small bosses—an extremely fun weapon to use, especially in PVP matches.

Pros

  • Exceptionally long reach, second only to a few Curved Swords.
  • Inflicts high damage with slashing attacks.
  • An elite Dexterity somber weapon, ideal for creating a powerful Dexterity build.
  • Features an Anti-Block damage system, allowing 40% of attacks to bypass defenses.
  • Offers solid base damage for a Curved Sword.

Cons

  • The signature whip attack is a bit underwhelming due to time consumption.
  • The whip animations are extremely long and do less damage compared to other skills.
  • You are stuck in one place during the entire animation causing you to be vulnerable.

Location

  1. In the map of Caelid, head to the Sellia, The Sorcery Town, and there you will have a battle.
  2. The battle is between you and the dynamic duo Nox Swordstress and Nox Priest.
  3. Try to divide them and fight individually to win.

7. Mantis Blade

An expert in short-range melee combat, you have the Mantis Blade. This weapon is literally the shortest blade of all Curved Swords but has the ability to become the longest as well. The Mantis Blade is design-wise pretty cool and has two blades on each side. Taking care of the large mini-bosses won’t be a problem.

Pros

  • The weapon inflicts impressive physical damage and can counter greatswords effectively.
  • Mantis Blade can be infused with Ashes Of War and upgraded using Smithing Stones.
  • The heavy attack extends, making it the longest Curved Sword in the game.
  • It allows you to maintain a safe distance from enemies with its heavy attack.
  • Useful for breaking power stances.
  • Charge attacks and jump attacks deliver significant stagger damage.
  • Requires minimal stats to wield effectively.

Cons

  • Despite its advantages, it is the shortest Curved Sword.
  • Has a very low drop rate, making it challenging to obtain compared to other Curved Swords.

Location

  1. In the Gelmir Hero’s Grave area, you drop down and ride a Chariot in a mission.
  2. In the very same opening, you will find a Lesser Cemetery Shade.
  3. This shade is very easily missable, so just kill, and he will drop the Mantis Blade.

Yet another weapon that is good in most close combat ranges. The Flowing Curved Sword is a majestic-looking curved sword that deals quite a dramatic amount of damage to enemies. Back when Elden Ring was first released, it was extremely popular because of its quickness. Players used it as a secondary weapon along with different Scythes

Pros

  • The Flowing Curved Sword’s heavy attack performs a series of slashing attacks that flow seamlessly.
  • Spinning slashes deal significant damage, especially when combined with Bleed Affinity for blood loss.
  • Known for its speed and agility.
  • Suitable for Strength Builds due to its impressive physical damage.
  • Charged heavy attacks deliver three combos worth of AR damage.
  • It consumes the most Stamina among all Curved Swords.

Cons

  • Light attacks are not as flashy and fun to use as heavy attacks.
  • Due to the boring and plain light attack, you will end up spamming R2 or Heavy Attacks.
  • No such unique moveset, just a rip-off of the Falchions in Elden Ring.

Location

  1. Getting the Flowing Curved Sword can actually be fun.
  2. It is inside a Protected Carriage in the Consecrated Snow Field area of the Caelid Map.
  3. It is protected by the Night Cavalries at night, duh. These Night cavalries are mini-bosses that ain’t hard to defeat.

The Developers have really outdone themselves with the design of the Beastman’s Curved Sword. You can see the wilderness vibe of it. Made up of a dull iron, this weapon is amazingly balanced and can perform those zinger buzz attacks you so want your curved weapon too. The main aspect of the weapon is the Strength that comes along with it.

Pros

  • The heavy attack of the Beastman’s Curved Sword delivers a multi-slash attack, dealing 600 damage.
  • Recent patches have improved the sword’s mobility.
  • You can perform dodge attacks by rolling back and pressing R1.
  • Dual-wielding and applying buffs can make the Beastman’s Curved Sword a lethal weapon.
  • Adding Bleed Affinity is highly recommended for this sword.
  • It excels as the primary weapon in bleed or strength-based builds.
  • Jump attacks deliver significant damage.

Cons

  • Frost and flame damage don’t complement this sword well; bleed is the preferred choice.
  • The attacks have a slow and awkward transition, which can be a drawback in PVP fights.
  • The low drop rate can result in hours of grinding.

Location

  1. There are about 7 Azula Beastman across the map of Elden Ring.
  2. These Beastman can be located in the Crumbling Farum Azula.
  3. Any one of them can drop this magnificent weapon, so it is your luck whether you find it in the first 15 minutes or the last 4 hours.

There are many weapons in Elden Ring that focus on just pure killing and destroying Hordes of enemies with a  sword, but none really help you defend yourself better. The Serpent-God’s Curved Sword is literally a life-saving curved sword in-game. The Sword actually has healing attributes to make you recover health during battles. Not only that, it has a good amount of base physical damage as well.

Pros

  • Beautiful serpent god design.

The Magma blade is an extremely well-designed and useful curved sword. It is extremely powerful when it comes to its fire damage and can surprise you with how much damage it can deal when you test it out yourself. This weapon deserves its spot in the Top 3 Curved Swords of the game.

Pros

  • Dual-wield for maximum fire and strength damage.
  • Scales well with Strength and Faith.
  • Magma Shower skill combines offense and defense.
  • Prioritizing Faith boosts its potential.
  • Great for NG+ with its three statistics.

  • Average reach.

Wing Of Astel would be your second pick for the best-curved swords because of how incredibly powerful it is. Some might look at it as physical base damage and judge it from that. But the amazing magic damage it does it phenomenal and definitely makes it worth wielding.

  • Lightweight and fast.
  • Heavy attack doesn’t consume FP.

Cons

  • Low base physical damage requires reliance on R2 attacks.
  • Cannot be infused with any Ashes Of War.

Location

  1. You have to go to the top of the ruins at the Southern Uhl Palace Ruins.
  2. There, you will find a small chest containing the Wing Of Astel.

So people have argued over whether the Scavenger Curved Sword is still one of the best bleed-build curved swords in Elden Ring. Due to the recent nerfs to the curved sword, people have started to not use It, but it has come back.

Pros

  • Insane blood buildup.
  • Powerstancing with one frost and one fire for NG+ effectiveness.
  • Incredible speed.

Cons

  • Recent nerf affected the bleed of the best-curved sword.
  • NG+ for two Scavenger Blades.

Location

  1. You have to go to the North of Mount Gelmir.
  2. Across the stone bridge, you will find a laying corpse beside the ladder and a Grafted Scion.
  3. It will have the Scavenger’s Curved Sword.

My Take On The Best Curved Swords

I have primarily played Elden Ring using the Curved Swords, and over time, I have been able to determine the best swords comparatively. These 10 curved swords are really unique and powerful in their own way, but my personal favorites are the Scavenger’s Curved Sword and Magma Blade. The Scavenger’s Blade has the best blood buildup even after the nerf it got, and the Magma Blade is just wonderful to use, especially with that Blades of Chaos aesthetic and Magma Shower skill.

So, these were the rankings for the curved swords in the game. Each one of the weapons has a distinct attribute to them, setting them apart. So, which one will you choose to be a part of your build?
