Which NPCs Take Prayer Books In Elden Ring?

To harness the true potential of Prayer Books or magical tomes, players must seek out the right NPCs who can unlock their secrets. We’ll explore the two central figures in Elden Ring who can help you unleash the power of Prayerbooks: Brother Corhyn and Miriel, Pastor of Vows.

Brother Corhyn: The Wandering Spellmaster

Brother Corhyn Elden Ring

The first answer to Elden Ring who to give Prayer Books, is Brother Corhyn. He is the first Prayerbook-accepting NPC that players encounter in Elden Ring, making his initial appearance in Roundtable Hold. He is willing to take the Prayerbooks you find and teach you the incantations they contain.

  • While Brother Corhyn is a viable option for giving your Prayerbooks, he comes with a significant drawback: as you progress through the main story, he relocates to various locations across the Lands Between, including Atlus Plateau and Leyndell, Royal Capital.
  • Keeping track of Brother Corhyn can be quite challenging, which is why we don’t particularly recommend giving all your Prayerbooks to him.

  • Early Game Accessibility: Brother Corhyn is the first Prayerbook-accepting NPC you encounter in Elden Ring, making him readily available during the early stages of the game.

  • Relocates Frequently: As you progress through the game, Brother Corhyn moves to various locations across the Lands Between, such as Altus Plateau and Leyndell, Royal Capital. This makes it challenging to keep track of him and hand in Prayerbooks consistently.
  • Limited Spell Offering: Unlike Miriel, Brother Corhyn does not teach sorceries, restricting the variety of magical abilities available through him.

Miriel, Pastor of Vows: The Ever-Reliable Turtle Pope

Miriel Elden Ring

Your other option, after getting to all the Elden Ring prayer book locations, is Miriel, Pastor of Vows – a large, hat-wearing turtle who has earned the affectionate nickname “Turtle Pope” among the Elden Ring community.

  • Miriel resides at the Church of Vows, located just northeast of Raya Lucaria Academy.
  • Unlike Brother Corhyn, Miriel’s location remains constant throughout the game, making him a more convenient choice for turning in your Prayerbooks.

The Turtle Pope’s stable location is not his only advantage. Miriel also teaches both incantations and sorceries, essentially acting as a one-stop hub for all your magical needs. Whenever you find a new Prayerbook or scroll, take it to Miriel, and he’ll be happy to teach you some new spells.

  • Fixed Location: Miriel’s stationary position at the Church of Vows, northeast of Raya Lucaria Academy, makes him easy to find and revisit, offering a convenient way to hand in Prayerbooks.
  • Teaches Both Incantations and Sorceries: As a one-stop hub for all your magical needs, Miriel can teach you a wide variety of spells, including both incantations and sorceries.
  • Beloved Community Figure: Fondly referred to as the “Turtle Pope,” Miriel has become a beloved character among the Elden Ring community, adding to the enjoyment of interacting with him.

  • Potentially Missable: For players who do not explore thoroughly or follow guides, Miriel may not be as easy to find initially compared to Brother Corhyn.
Important: There doesn’t appear to be any difference in the incantations or prices offered by Brother Corhyn and Miriel. Given Miriel’s convenient, unchanging location, and his ability to teach both incantations and sorceries, he is the ideal choice for players looking to expand their magical arsenal with minimal hassle.

Final Remarks

This brings us to the end of Elden Ring prayer book locations guide. While incantations are powerful, sorcery is equally good in the game. However, most players debate over Incantation Vs Sorcery Spells in Elden Ring. You can easily make a quality build, such as the best mage build, astrologer build, intelligence build & much more.
