Link, armed with the restored Master Sword, finally confronts Ganondorf in the ultimate fight in Tears of the Kingdom ends. It’s a one-on-one battle, despite the chaotic arena, where Ganondorf uses all his weapons and spells while Link focuses on depleting his enemy’s health bar.

However, after defeating Ganondorf, he surprises Link by transforming himself into the Demon Dragon, posing an even greater threat. Fortunately, Link has allies in the fight.

As Ganondorf transforms into the Demon Dragon, Zelda, in her dragon form, joins Link in the battle to assist him in defeating the enemy in Tears of the Kingdom ending. At the beginning of the Tears of the Kingdom, Zelda travels back in time to witness the struggle of Hyrule against Ganondorf and his eventual sealing. To aid Link in his quest to restore Master Sword and defeat the resurrected Ganondorf, she willingly undergoes a spell to become a dragon and loses her former self.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ending commence once all the Eyes of Malice are destroyed from the creature’s body. At this point, Link is directed to strike the Secret Stone on the Demon Dragon’s head, leading to Ganondorf’s defeat. Hyrule is no longer under the threat of the Demon King. After the fight, Zelda’s dragon form weakens due to her involvement in the battle. Link, being the Hylian knight, tries to save the princess of Hyrule.

Zelda Restores To Her Original Form

Link uses the power of his arm, granted by Rauru, to heal Zelda in her weakened dragon form. During this process, spiritual projections of Rauru and Hylia appear to assist Link with additional energy, causing Zelda’s body to disappear and reverting her back to her original Hylian form. In Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ending, it is known that Zelda’s transformation into a dragon was meant to be permanent, but with the assistance of the founders of the kingdom, the spell is reversed.

After Zelda’s restoration, Link’s right arm also returns to its previous state, indicating that the divine forces might have had a preconceived plan for everything that has happened. This plan could include Ganondorf’s downfall and Link’s direct involvement in breaking Zelda’s irreversible spell. The two founders, Rauru and Hylia, join hands and gradually vanish, causing the arena around Link and Zelda to crumble, leading to the next scene where Link wakes up mid-fall after falling from a great height during Tears of the Kingdom ending.

Link Saves Zelda

From a distance, Link spots Zelda falling unconscious and immediately rushes to save her in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ending. He catches her mid-air, and they both fall into a nearby lake. After carrying her out of the water and placing her on the grass, Zelda regains consciousness and sees Link unharmed. She realizes that Link was successful in defeating Ganondorf, and her decision to become a dragon has served its purpose.

Zelda explains that she woke up feeling a warm embrace, which she believes was Link grabbing her during their fall or perhaps a metaphor for the blessing that transformed her back to her original form. She also tells Link that she had the opportunity to see Hyrule in its former glory and meet many people during her journey into the past and that she has much to share with him. This marks the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ending, as Link successfully completes his mission of finding Princess Zelda.

Once players complete Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, they are allowed to continue exploring the open world, but with a save point, before facing Ganondorf, the Demon King. The saved game is marked with a star, indicating the completion of the campaign, despite it placing players back to moments before the final battle.

Summary

The Zelda Tears of the Kingdom ending raises some questions regarding whether Link has truly broken Ganondorf’s cycle of reincarnation. If Link was successful in ending the cycle, then Tears of the Kingdom could be the last game in this specific version of the franchise’s storyline.

On the other hand, if Ganon’s chances of returning were not entirely obliterated, it is possible that he could become a threat to Hyrule once more. As is typical in the Zelda franchise, Tears of the Kingdom ending leaves some questions unanswered, despite wrapping up the current arc nicely.
