Baldur’s Gate 3 Still Averaging Almost 645,000 Players Daily On Steam

Almost seven months after its official release, Baldur’s Gate 3 averages almost 645,000 players daily on Steam alone. Larian Studios’ publishing director, @Cromwelp, took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that the critically acclaimed RPG had an average of 644,205 users in the last seven days. He further clarified that this data was just from Steam.

At the moment of this writing, there are over 120,000 players currently roaming the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 according to SteamDB. This figure is a testament to the title’s quality given its standing in light of the various competition RPGs launched in 2023. Bethesda‘s Starfield, for example, currently has only 7,540 players exploring space with its 24-hour peak sitting at nearly 8000.

The success of BG3 was rather unexpected due to its launch in early access back in 2020. After spending almost three years in that pre-release state, the game reached a substantial peak. Even the devs were concerned about the title’s performance following the official launch, though its astronomical success left them surprised.

Larian’s latest project has received numerous accolades since its release in August of 2023. Aside from its Game of the Year victory at TGA ’23, the third entry of Baldur’s Gate was crowned the best-performing PC game last year in terms of revenue generation. Moreover, it recently hit half a million reviews on Steam with its rating being the coveted “overwhelmingly positive.”

Baldur’s Gate 3 launched on August 3, 2023, for PC and later received a port for PlayStation 5, macOS, and Xbox Series X|S. eXputer gave it a score of 5/5 citing its incredible worldbuilding and RPG mechanics.
