The Best Ramuh Eikonic Abilities in Final Fantasy 16 will help you beat some of the toughest bosses with ease, as I believe Ramuh is ideal for single-target DPS scenarios. However, the Ramuh Eikon is unlocked near the mid-point of the story for Clive to utilize in battle. Additionally, Ramuh Eikon has five total abilities.
- Author’s Note: You can trust and rely on my expertise since I’ve gone through FF16 for well over 45 hours.

All Ramuh Eikon Abilities Summarized And Compared
Eikon Ramuh has 5 different Eikonic abilities for dealing with boss fights and various enemy types in FF16. Some of the Ramuh Eikonic abilities are unlocked by default, but you’ll have to spend ability points to unlock the ones that are locked.
Additionally, each ability can also be upgraded and mastered to increase both attack damage and stagger damage. Here is an overview and my take on each of Ramuh’s abilities:
Serial Number | Ability | What it does | Best For |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Judgment Bolt | Deals massive damage and causes huge stagger damage. | The Highest-Damaging Single-Target Skill |
2 | Thunderstorm | Good for obliterating a single target, causing health and stagger damage. | The Best Ramuh Abillity For Stun-Lock |
3 | Pile Drive | Useful for crowd control, dealing health and stagger damage to enemies in the attack range. | The Best Ramuh Skill For Crowd-Control |
4 | Lightning Rod | Great for crowd control; creates a lightning ball that continues to deal damage as more enemies are struck. | The Best Ramuh Skill For Passive Dmg |
5 | Blind Justice | Launches balls of lightning against multiple enemies at once, but the damage dealt is quite low. | The Best Ramuh Skill For Manual-Targeting |
1. Judgment Bolt
- Why I Chose This: The Judgement Bolt deals insane ST damage and can obliterate bosses and mobs alike.
Eikon | Ramuh |
Attack Rating | 4/5 Stars |
Stagger Rating | 3/5 Stars |
Ability Points Required |
|
The Judgement Bolt is undoubtedly the best Ramuh Eikonic Ability. It not only deals massive damage to the health of an enemy, but it also causes huge stagger damage additionally. I’ve always used this for high dps strategies. It will not only allow you to quickly beat some of the minibosses, but also stagger bosses more often as well.
- Deals massive HP and stagger dmg.
- Can be used at a range and annihilates most enemies.
- Requires large number of ability points to unlock.
- Highly single target and huge recharge time.
2. Thunderstorm
- Why I Chose This: The Thunderstorm can deal decent stagger and HP dmg to a single target, has low recharge time, and can stun-lock many foes.
Eikon | Ramuh |
Attack Rating | 3/5 Stars |
Stagger Rating | 2/5 Stars |
Ability Points Required |
|
Another great Eikonic ability to obliterate a single target in Final Fantasy 16. It can be used as a great finisher to your melee combos in order to finish off the enemy, or you can use my strategy and stun lock enemies. It has good attack power and stagger power additionally. You can also use it from range and from a safe distance from the enemy.
- Deals decent stagger and HP dmg to a single enemy.
- Recharges quickly, can be used multiple times.
- Can only be used on a single enemy, not suitable for crowd-control.
- Stun-lock potential is diminished on larger enemies.
3. Pile Drive
- Why I Chose This: The Pile Drive is available by default and does not need to be purchased. Good for crowd control and can be spammed.
Eikon | Ramuh |
Attack Rating | 3/5 Stars |
Stagger Rating | 3/5 Stars |
Ability Points Required |
|
Pile Drive is the first Ramuh ability on this list, which is great for crowd-controlling in Final Fantasy 16. It deals equally good health damage and stagger damage. And that too not to a single enemy, but to every enemy that is inside the range of the attack. In my experience, it can be an asset agains groups of enemies.
- Unlocked by default, and has low recharge time.
- Good for crowd control, but the enemies must be close to you.
- Not effecive in boss encounters.
- Comparatively weaker for single target.
4. Lightning Rod
- Why I Chose This: The Lightning Rod is an excellent passive ability to deal additional damage alongside your combos.
Eikon | Ramuh |
Attack Rating | 2/5 Stars |
Stagger Rating | 3/5 Stars |
Ability Points Required |
|
Lightning Rod is one of the best Eikonic abilities for crowd control. You basically create a lightning ball that continues to deal damage as more enemies are struck by it. You can continue to perform combos as the enemies get weakened by this attack. I’ve found this to be an excellent source of consistent passive damage.
- Great for staggering multiple enemies at once.
- One of the best crowd-controlling attacks.
- Requires considerable ability points to unlock.
- Weaker against bosses and single targets.
5. Blind Justice
- Why I Chose This: The Blind Justice can keep multiple enemies on edge during combat and can be used repeatedly due to low cooldown.
Eikon | Ramuh |
Attack Rating | 2/5 Stars |
Stagger Rating | 3/5 Stars |
Ability Points Required |
|
Blind Justice is also unlocked by default and is the default R2 attack for the Ramuh Eikon. You can basically launch balls of lightning against multiple enemies at once. The damage dealt is actually quite low; even the stagger damage is not that much. But it can be used on multiple targets when they’re down, and I think can be worth the trouble when surrounded.
- Very low recharge, allowing chaining combos.
- Good for disabling multiple enemies during combat.
- Doesn’t deal enough HP or stagger dmg.
- Almost useless in boss battles.
How To Unlock Eikon Ramuh
Before you can use Ramuh’s Eikonic abilities, you’ll have to unlock the Eikon itself. The Eikon Ramuh is unlocked at the end of the main quest, “Crystal’s Curse.”
- This is a tough quest, and you’ll party up with Cid, Jill, and Torgal.
- You’ll fight various tough enemies during the quest.
- The purpose of the quest is to destroy the Mothercrytsal in the Holy Empire of Sanbreque.
- There are many important stories and plot-related events that take place in this quest.
- The main boss is actually Typhon, and he is pretty tough to take down additionally.
- At the end of the quest, some events lead to Clive obtaining a part of Eikon Ramuh.
- You’ll be able to use Ramuh in the very next main quest, known as “Cid the Outlaw.”
Final Fantasy 16 has finally been released, and it is currently a PS5 exclusive, which is its only release platform. With great action combat and a jaw-dropping plot, it makes for a really good experience. You might be conflicted because of the genre change, but I assure you it’s entirely worth it. You can even try out a free demo before deciding on which edition to buy. Most of the characters are written really well, and you’ll get to fight Dominants in large-scale battles.
My Experience And Take On The Best Ramuh Abilities
The Judgement Bolt ability is not only one of the strongest Ramuh Eikonic abilities but it is an extremely overpowered Eikonic ability in general. This ability is powerful enough to deal huge damage not only to health bars but also to the stagger bar of bosses. The Lightning Rod ability is also pretty overpowered if you know how to use it properly.
Once I learned how to utilize it properly, I was melting groups of enemies by using this ability once during battle. If you cant get around to learning the Lightning Rod ability, then you should use Pile Drive, which is also pretty good for crowd control.
This concludes my guide on THE best Ramuh Eikonic abilities in Final Fantasy 16 that you can unlock and use. I have not only ranked all of Ramuh’s Eikonic abilities but have also mentioned the method of unlocking Eikon Ramuh itself. I hope that the guide was helpful in learning about everything that you need to know about Ramuh. Let me know what you think about Final Fantasy 16 in the comments below!
