Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 12 Brings Fixes For Specific Crashes

The devs have also given an update on the macOS version of Patch 5.

Story Highlights

  • Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the latest RPGs to arrive this year for modern-day gaming platforms.
  • Developed by Larian Studios, the title has received constant post-launch support and bug fixes.
  • The latest patch, called Hotfix 12, resolves particular in-game crashes for players.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has been making strides across the globe for all that it has brought to the table as an action RPG, now even receiving a nomination for Game of the Year 2023 at TGA this time around, which I’m pretty sure it’s going to bag. In the meantime, the devs have rolled out another hotfix for the game, bringing fixes for crashes that previously impeded players from progressing in certain situations.

This update addresses crashes that were occurring in certain instances, such as starting a conversation with Cazador and joining with a second controller and activating split-screen in certain places,” reads the post on X announcing Hotfix 12 for Baldur’s Gate 3. As per player reports, there were some mishaps taking place during particular gameplay sequences, but those were since taken care of.

Moving forward, the devs have also issued an update on the macOS version of Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 5—a content-heavy update for the RPG that’s about 30 GB in size and chock-full of new stuff for players to dive into. Larian remarks, “Mac users, we continue to work on Patch 5 for your platform and expect it to have it available soon along with this last hotfix. We’ll keep you updated [on X].”

Baldur’s Gate 3 is exceptionally hot stuff these days, with an Xbox Series X|S port seemingly coming later this year, as sources close to eXputer revealed to us earlier regarding the exact release date of the title. At The Game Awards 2023, more information on that front will be made official, outside of the wins the game will be taking home, having been nominated for eight different categories up until now.

Although it’s been in early access since 2020, the title traces its full-scale release to August 3, 2023, for the PC, with a PlayStation 5 version dropping later on September 6, 2023. eXputer, in its review, rated the turn-based RPG 5/5, with Huzaifah Durrani iterating, “Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the greatest RPGs of all time, and a testament to the talent of developer Larian Studios.”
