Remnant 2 offers special rewards that players can get by completing the campaign on various difficulty levels. The first weapon that I obtained after clearing Remnant 2 on Veteran Difficulty is the long gun known as Sporebloom. It is not only one of the best weapons, but it is also a heavy hitter and deals devastating damage on a single shot, which is extremely helpful in boss fights.
Additionally, the Sporebloom comes equipped with a deadly weapon mod known as the Spore Shot.
- It allows you to deal damage over time by utilizing deadly gas that can be fired from the weapon.
- You’ll shoot a rotten spore, which will deal explosive damage on impact.
- It also leaves the deadly gas around, which will deal damage over time.
- Sporebloom is effective for both, the first boss fight and crowd-controlling multiple enemies.

The next weapon on the rewards list for beating the campaign on veteran difficulty is a melee weapon known as the Smolder. It is one of the best melee weapons that can be used to deal fire damage to enemies. Additionally, the exclusive weapon mod of Smolder further strengthens its charged attacks.
According to my experience, it comes equipped with the Blaze weapon mod, which adds even more fire damage to the weapon.
- Charged attacks will leave a lasting effect of burning your enemies.
- This mode helps you capitalize on Smolder’s charged attacks.
- Use the charged attacks to apply the burning effect on enemies.
- The burning effect will also deal damage over time additionally.

Similar to the veteran difficulty, the nightmare difficulty also offers two special weapons as rewards. The combinations of weapons that you get are also similar to the Veteran difficulty. The rewards include a special melee weapon and a special long gun. However, there is a unique amulet that can also be unlocked by beating Remnant 2 on nightmare difficulty.

The Repulsor is a special long gun that is very powerful at mid-range and has great base damage. As it is a special weapon, it also comes with a default weapon mod which further strengthens this gun. Its special weapon mod is known as Banish, which increases the damage dealt with the Repulsor.
- Using Banish will send enemies into some other dimension.
- This ability can send your friends or members of your team to other dimensions as well.
- The actual buff takes place after the ability itself ends.
- Once Banish ends, you will be able to deal more damage with the Repulsor for almost 8 seconds.

I also received a powerful melee weapon known as the Hero’s Sword by completing Remnant 2 on Nightmare. This sword has a wide range of attacks which makes it more special and unique when compared to other melee weapons. It has above-average stats, but its default weapon mod makes the Hero’s Sword unique.
The weapon mod on the Hero’s Sword by default is the Energy Wave.
- Energy Wave allows you to fire ranged projectiles from Heroe’s Sword.
- You can release energy waves by using charge attacks.
- This mod makes the Hero’s Sword viable at longer ranges as well, which is quite rare for melee weapons in Remnant 2.
Onyx Pendulum
Nightmare difficulty also rewards with a special amulet known as the Onyx Pendulum. It can be used to increase the damage of stowed firearms by 2.5% for 15 seconds. The amulet adds stacks, and the damage can be stacked up to 10 times additionally. Onyx Pendulum is a great amulet for offensive builds in Remnant 2.

The Starkiller is the special long gun that was rewarded to me after beating the campaign on apocalypse difficulty. It is a great weapon to deal with enemies from a longer range. It also comes equipped with a scope, which makes it ideal for long-range combat in Remnant 2.
Its default weapon mod, known as the Gravity Core, also allows you to group all your targets for crowd control.
- You will fire a compressed sphere from the gun using the Gravity Core weapon mod.
- The sphere will then draw in enemies and objects and will also deal damage.
- You can utilize that opportunity to take out enemies from afar using the Starkiller additionally.
World’s Edge

World’s Edge is another strong melee weapon that I obtained by beating Remnant 2 on Apocalypse. It has a high base damage and great stagger potential as well. Its special weapon allows you to use the World’s Edge not only at long range but also for crowd control.
Horizon Strike is the default weapon mod of World’s Edge, and it makes the charged attacks more powerful.
- This weapon mod allows you to defeat multiple enemies, and that too from long range.
- You can utilize charged attacks to release a projectile that will damage multiple enemies at once.
- The projectile can travel a long distance, which makes the World’s Edge viable at any range in Remnant 2.
Devoured Loop
It is a special ring that provides both a buff and a debuff to your character in Remnant 2. Equipping the Devoured Loop will grant you a 1% chance to reset your skill cooldown by using a critical hit. However, equipping this ring will also increase the damage dealt to the player by 10%, which means a debuff to your defense in Remnant 2.

Aside from the traditional difficulty levels, there is an additional hardcore mode which is the perma-death mode of Remnant 2. It is the toughest challenge that you can give yourself while playing the campaign. If you die in the hardcore mode, you’ll have to start all over again. However, you’ll get a special weapon and some amulets, including rings for completing Remnant 2 in hardcore.

Ford’s Scattergun enhances ranged damage significantly with a decent magazine size and good critical hit chance. Savior’s bullets add bonus damage to bug weak spots, and the Shatterstar mod ignites bullets.
- Daredevil’s Charm from hardcore mode boosts damage, speed, and defense when you unequip armor.
- Provisioner Ring, earned in hardcore mode, auto-reloads stowed weapons over time.
- Ahanae Crystal, another hardcore mode reward, increases damage based on enemy status effects.
- Dran Scavenger Ring regenerates health when picking up items and temporarily boosts damage.
- Dzyr Sniper Sigil increases damage at maximum range by 20%.
Are These Rewards Worth It?
In order to get the above-mentioned rewards, I had to grind Remnant for more than 200 hours. Completing Remnant 2 on each difficulty level is not an easy task, and not everyone might be able to achieve this task. However, I think the items rewarded for each of the difficulties are definitely worth it.
