Hogwarts Legacy: How To Unlock Diffindo

Hogwarts Legacy offers a wide variety of spells that can be used to fight evil, levitate objects, create light in dark areas, repair broken statutes, and much more. One of those spells is Diffindo, a destructive spell used to throw slash attacks at your enemies from a distance in Hogwarts Legacy. It can be acquired by completing Professor Sharp’s assignment 2.

Diffindo is an attack-type spell that can be used to throw slash attacks toward enemies from a distance.
It can be unlocked by completing Professor Sharp’s assignment 2; however, completing Professor Sharp’s assignment 1 is necessary to access that quest.
The objective of Professor Sharp’s assignment 1 is to acquire and drink Focus potion, Maximus Potion, and Edurus Potion. The Maximus and Edurus potions are to be drunk simultaneously.
For Professor Sharp’s assignment 2, the player is required to obtain Invisibility and Thunderbrew potions. The Thunderbrew potion has to be used against enemies.
All the potions can be purchased from J. Pippin’s Shop located in Hogsmeade.
After completing the necessary objectives of each assignment, report back to Professor Sharp, who can be found in the Potions Classroom located in The Library Annex.
Completing both of these assignments will unlock Depulso and Diffindo.
Professor Sharp’s assignments are available after the player has completed the main quest, “Jackdaw’s Rest.”

Professor Sharp’s Assignment 1 – Unlocking Depuslo

Location of potions: J. Pippin’s Shop in Hogsmeade
Location of Professor Sharp: Potions Classroom in The Library Annex
Objectives: Acquiring and using Focus, Maximus, and Edurus Potion
Reward: Depulso Spell, 150 XP

Before moving on to Professor Sharp’s Assignment 2, you’ll have to complete the first assignment assigned by Professor Sharp. This is a mandatory step and cannot be skipped. Additionally, you won’t be able to access Professor Sharp’s Assignments until you have made considerable progress in the main story.

Professor Sharp’s assignments are available after you have completed Jackdaw’s Rest. After you have completed the Jackdaw’s Rest, the first assignment by Professor Sharp will be available in the quest log

. For the first assignment, you’ll need three potions:

Focus Potion
Maxima Potion
Edurus Potion

The focus potion can be consumed at any time, while the Maxima and Edurus potions are needed to be consumed at the same time in such a way that their effects are active simultaneously.

All three spells are available at J. Pippin’s Potion in Hogsmeade. Simply teleport to the Foo Flame near J. Pippin’s Potion and buy all three potions from him.

You can also buy the crafting recipes of respective potions from him, which will only just increase the number of steps required to complete the assignment since now you’ll have to hunt for the ingredients required for brewing the potions as well.

Crafting certainly has its uses since you’ll be able to brew these potions again and again, granted that you have the necessary items. After you have the required potions, visit Professor Sharp to learn Depulso Spell.

Professor Sharp can be found in the Potions Classroom in The Library Annex area of Hogwarts.

Professor Sharp Assignment 2 – Unlocking Diffindo

Location of potions: J. Pippin’s Shop in Hogsmeade
Location of Professor Sharp: Potions Classroom in The Library Annex
Objectives: Acquiring and using Focus, Maximus, and Edurus Potion
Location of enemies: Spiders near East North Hogwarts Region
Reward: Diffindo Spell, 150 XP

After you have completed assignment 1, the second assignment will become available in the quest log

. For the second assignment, you need to use the following 2 potions.

Invisibility Potion
Thunderbrew Potion (to be used against enemies)

Unlike the previous assignment, the condition here is that you need to use one of the aforementioned spells (Thunderbrew) against enemies and report back to Professor Sharp. To acquire the spells, head back to J. Pippin’s Shop in Hogsmeade and buy the potions from him. Similar to assignment 1, you can also buy the crafting recipes for these potions as well.

After you have both of these potions, fast-travel to East North Hogwarts Region and try out these potions during combat.

You don’t necessarily have to travel here since the objective here is to use the Thunderbrew spell against any enemy but for our guide, we are using it against the spiders in East North Hogwarts Region. After you are done with the encounter, report back to Professor Sharp.

After hearing what you had to say, he’ll teach you the Diffindo spell, which you can use against the forces of evil that wander outside the lands of Hogwarts.
