What Does Killing Ravens Do
You do not kill Ravens just because of your hatred for Odin. They are part of a side quest. It is known as “The Eyes Of Odin” quest. Every Raven you kill contributes to this side quest. Six chests in Niflheim contain unique goods that may only be accessed if a specific quantity of Odin’s Ravens has been eliminated. Following are all the raven locations in God Of War Ragnarok.Swarltalfeheim
It is where you first start the quest called “The Eyes Of Odin”. There are about 13 Ravens that can be found and eliminated here. They will not be hard to see, but on your first visit, you will only be able to eliminate 9. It is because you will require a special long ranged weapon known as the Draupnir Spear. Once you unlock it killing all ravens in God Of War Ragnarok at their location will be much easier.
Aurvanger Wetlands
At Aurvanger Wetlands, a raven is immediately visible as you exit the Mystic Gateway, perched on a large volcanic rock. You will first get to see how obvious and easy it will be to kill. Just simply aim your Leviathan Axe at the raven and throw it at it. It will be killed, and a notification of the kill will appear.
Nedavellir
In the dwarf city of Nedavellir, locate another raven near Odin’s statue and to the left of Sindri’s shop. Use your Leviathan Axe to dispatch it.The Watchtower
You will see the watchtower as you move around in your boat. It is the island that divides the Bay of Bounty, and it is the third raven location out of all the raven locations in God of War Ragnarok. You will go up to the watchtower. After that, you have to walk behind the deck. You will find a Draugr Hole at the location, which you can choose to fight or not. If you are, make sure you are wearing good armor. To the south of the Draugr Hole, you have to wait for the magnificent Raven to appear. It is really tricky to kill the raven since it is now flying. You would have to track and analyze its flight pattern in order to kill it. Another crucial thing is to time the Axe perfectly because it is a moving object. You may have to attempt twice or thrice in order to kill the raven. Just make sure you get the timing of it.
Radvinn’s Rig
The fourth Raven that can be found in-game is direct across the watchtower and in the Bounty of Bay. It is relatively easy when compared to killing the previous raven. You have to sort of climb a bit in order actually to find the rig. Climb until you find a Nornir Chest. It is to the left of the Nornir chest. The raven will be resting idly upon a hook that is attached to a crane. Simply take out your Axe and aim at it to move further in the side quest.
Alberic Hollow
Navigate to Alberic Hollow and Alberic Island using a boat, where you’ll need the Draupnir Spear to access and eliminate two ravens. Both require timing and precision with your weapons.First Raven In Alberic Island
The Alberic island will actually be the fifth and sixth location of all the raven locations in God of War Ragnarok. It is because the island has two ravens that you can kill to further move up the side quest. The first one is actually above the beach, where there will be a Berserker gravestone and a Nornir Chest. You are again going to need your Druapnir Spear in order to climb and move on further.Just move up ahead of the warrior spirit side quest. Blow up the area blockage to the left of the water turbine by the sonic arrows of Atreus. Past that, you will find the raven soaring around. Just like before, you have to time your Leviathan Axe in order to kill the raven, you can also use the Draupnir spear for precision, but that is just up to preference.
Second Raven In Alberic Island
The second point of interest will be the little island just opposite Alberic Island. Do not just go boating around the place searching for an entrance since the only way to go there is from the first island. After destroying the first raven, you move ahead into the raven spot, and in the corner, you will find a rock blocking the way to the other island. Simply use the spear to destroy it.Once you have done that, you can now just grapple to the little platform. You then again grapple to get to the island, where you will see a little opening between rocks. The raven will be sitting there, all ready to be killed.
Lyngbakr Island
After activating the “The Weight of Chains” quest, a raven is accessible near a mini tunnel on Lyngbakr Island.Althjof’s Rig
Althjof’s Rig offers an easily located raven just off the boat climb, visible in a crack near the chain.First Raven In The Forge
The forge area consists of two Odin’s ravens as it is part of the main storyline. Once inside The Forge, proceed along the route until you reach the volcanic rock on your left. Wait here until you see the recognizable Odin’s Raven flying. It will be the most challenging to hit as its flight pattern is hard to track. You may need to make a couple of tries before actually hitting the raven and killing it.Use the Druapnir spear for extra precision instead of the axe and aim it right onto the path of the raven and kill it mid-air.
Second Raven In The Forge
As discussed before that, there is another green raven lurking around in the forge area. What you want to do is take a platform ride all the way up to the top of the forge. Go through the tunnel ahead of you and squeeze through the little passage. After getting out of the tunnel on your left, you will see the raven just ahead of you. Hitting and killing the raven will not be hard as you stand on the ledge and take aim.Jarnsmida Pitmines
The Jarnsmida Pitmines raven requires finding a good angle for your throw, as it takes a wide path. The Applecore
Finally, in The Applecore, the last raven sits atop a broken plank. Solve a puzzle with Atreus to get a clear shot.Midgard
In Midgard, the ravens found are considerably fewer than the ravens found in all the other realms. Nonetheless, you can spot the bright green-colored ravens easily. This is because the realm is mostly covered with snow and has black caves in it. This makes it relatively easy to spot the green hue of the Ravens in-game. There are about 6 ravens found in Midgard.
Raider Hideout
Located to the right of the Lake of Nine, near the Raider Hideout, you’ll find a raven right off your sled next to the giant stone doors. It’s perched near the hinge, easily visible for a quick axe throw.Tyr’s Temple
South of Tyr’s Temple, there’s a raven in an ice cave. It sits to the right of a small ice wall within the cave, ready for your axe.First Raven In The Derelict Outpost
There are about two ravens that you will be able to find in the Derelict Outpost region. The two ravens will be counted as the 16th and the 17th ravens you will find. The Derelict Outpost is located at the end of a protracted and meandering route west of Tyr’s temple. Do not move forward to the Mystic Gate or the chain that will lead you to Sindri’s Shop; instead, leave your sled where it is and leap over the wall.Immediately after scaling the stone wall, turn to the left. Above you, a ship that is stranded and frozen between the stones is visible. Look through the sizable hole in the ship’s hull by moving below the vessel. One of Odin’s ravens will be peeping back at you.
Second Raven In The Derelict Outpost
After turning around to just facing the outpost, you will enter it and go past the mystic gateway. Onto the right will find a chain. Climb the chain in order to move up forward and move past Sindri’s shop and onto the right. You will be able to sling to the other side of the platform. Again swing past the platform and continue to move forward until, on the left of the screen, you can see the green raven.Hitting it from this far with an Axe would be improbable so use the spear because it goes quite straight without dropping.
Oarsmen
Starting from the gateway from the point of interest, Oarsmen, there will be a Nornir chest. You will walk past the chest. Turn right at the shattered portion of Tyr’s statue in the Shores of Nine region to reach The Oarsmen section of Midgard. Continue on with the mission until you kill the centaur, at which point you climb the ice and pull the huge chain on the opposite side. This will make the second flight of steps visible. Look up at the statue of The Oarsman on your right as you approach the frozen ship. Above the statue’s knee, you can see Odin’s Raven sitting on a piece of stone.
Well Of Urd
At the Well of Urd, climb up and through a crack, then slide left just before the final jump. From this vantage point, look up past a red flag to spot the raven perched on the mountain.Alfheim
The third realm of the nine realms in the world tree is Alfheim. It is the land of the light and dark elves. Odin has had his eyes on Alfheim for quite a while now Alfheim is quite a big realm for finding ravens since there are about 10 ravens found in Alfheim.
Strond
After you enter Alfhem for the first time through the Mystic gate, you should move just up ahead to the hill. You are going to follow the path to the Temple of Light. Keep moving on the path until you reach the very top of the canyon, surrounded by a little circle. It is going to be near a Nornir chest. You should drop down from this location and move forward and find the rock bridge. It will overlook the ridge of the Temple Of Light from the side. In the far distance ahead of the bridge, you will be able to see the raven. It will be sitting on a dead tree, so kill it with your axe.
First Raven In Temple Of Light
Till you reach the Light of Alfheim, continue through the Temple of Light. When you arrive, turn right to ascend the broad spiral staircase. Just a few feet more, follow it up, and as soon as you can, leap off the left side. One of Odin’s Ravens present in the constrained space where you find yourself. As soon as you land, move ahead and turn to your right. The Odin’s Raven is parked behind a metal barrier. Don’t even try to attack it with the purple crystal that is above the Raven because you won’t be able to kill it that way. Try the other purple crystal on the left side of the room and aim at it with your axe. Move the cursor until it turns blue, then throw your axe, and it will deflect and kill the raven.
Second Raven In Temple Of Light
Also, in the temple of light, you will find your 22nd raven. Just after passing the Nornir Chest, keep going inside the Temple of Light until you come to a circular structure with the Light of Alfheim protruding through it. You will have to kill the Light Elves that emerge as part of the storyline and proceed. A staircase with purple crystals on either side will be seen. One of Odin’s Ravens can be seen sitting on a faraway structure if you turn to your left. To rid the Temple of Light of Odin’s creatures, hurl your Axe at it.
The Canyons
Turn left into The Canyon once you send Tyr back home through the mysterious doorway. You may go to Sindri’s shop by continuing down the trail. Now you have to move to the large area of the Canyons. There you are going to find the red sacks, which you kill with your Leviathan axe. A wall that you can climb over will be revealedWhen you get to the store, turn to your right and gaze at the wooden fence that separates you from a rocky side area. One of Odin’s ravens will be flying about. It is going to take you a few minutes to kill the raven. Try to eyeball it onto a certain location, and do not track it. Just time your axe perfectly in order to kill it.
First Raven In Barrens
This location is also going to have two ravens as it will be both the 24th and 25th location of all the raven locations in God Of War Ragnarok. Your destination is the enormous skeleton in The Barrens, which is located at the top-right corner. Get off of your sled and position it on the beast’s right side of the skull.Aim for the creature’s eye socket from above. Odin’s Raven will be sitting there when you arrive. Cut it down with your axe.
The Second Raven In Barrens
The second raven will be found near the exit into the forbidden sands area of the map. You have to move about with the sled and ride toward the elven temple. It is located on the left side of the Barrens. Do not go inside the area but just jump off your sled near the left side of the temple. You will find a gate leading to the other half of Alfheim. One of Odin’s Ravens is perched on the trunk of a dead tree that protrudes from the side of a rock. Break it.
First Raven In Forbidden Sands
Go into the tunnel and move forward into the forbidden sand and slide down with your sled and you would have to go just a bit further in order to get this raven. You will see a three-bedded rock with minor wooden pillars on it. If you go across the structure, you will be able to see the raven if you back up just a little. Make sure you take proper aim with whatever weapon you are using.Second One In The Forbidden Sands
The next raven is going to be kind of in the outpost on the far right. You have to backtrack into the old eleven sanctums but not actually go above it. There will be a mini tunnel under it, and you will go through there. You will not be able to do this without the Draupnir spear. Once you move inside, you will see the raven kind of guarding the Normir chest. You can just throw a barrage of spears to kill the flying raven.Third In The Forbidden Sands
In the forbidden sands, specifically in the northern region on the left, you will be able to see a big statue holding a sword. Move towards it while jumping through the obstacles. It is very easy to see points of interest. You will be able to see the green raven flying about, but in order to kill it, you must cross the light bridge. Doing that will ensure your chances of killing it and not wasting more time than necessary.Fourth One In The Forbidden Sands
The last one in this area will be in the far left corner of the Forbidden Sands. Just move past the circular structure, and you will see a wall for climbing. Just sling up the wall, and you will be in a cave-type circular area. At first glance, you won’t be able to see the bird but move to your left a bit, and you will see the bird peeking behind the pillar. It is so close to the ground that you can probably use chaos blades to kill it.Vanaheim
It is by far the largest realm to have the ravens in the game area-wise. The area is filled with ravens for you to find and kill. There are about 15 ravens that can be found in Vanaheim, all of which are easy to find. Most of them can only be killed by the Draupnir spear, so make sure you get it first.
The Southern Wilds
You will be starting with the Southern Wilds to find your 30th Raven so far. You’d be heading toward the north side of the area. Vanaheim is one of the most exploratory realms, and it can be difficult to find ravens in it, so make sure you follow proper instructions. Move left and forward towards the lantern as you move.Be on the lookout for a massive root-constructed archway. Once you pass over the arch, you will be close to a little lake. The Odin’s Raven may be seen circling in the sky over the ocean. Get rid of it.
Freyr’s Camp
The Freyr Camp is where you should be heading now. Once you get to Freyr’s Camp, proceed through the large wooden doors in the rear and eastward. Walk to your left if it’s nighttime. A sizable blue ring that is raised from the ground by some roots of the forest will be seen. The raven will be sitting on the left side of the blue ring on the branch of the tree. Take aim and kill it.Eastern Barri Woods
Now, as many of you know by now that some of the side quests majorly require the Draupnir spear. So does this raven location of all the raven locations in God of War Ragnarok. Move through the forest, and on the right path, you will find a rock with a golden crack. Throw your Draupnir spear at it, and it’ll blow up. Once you’ve done that, you are going to take the side path and look up left. You will see the Green raven sitting in the tree hole. The Abandoned Village
Coming up from the Eastern Barri Woods, you will find the Abandoned Village up north. You are going to come from the upper platform of the village. You then drop down and grapple across into the room. Take a left from there and climb up the wall. You then use your spear to make a zipline. Take the zipline and throw the spear at the rock in front of you. Move in and turn left, and you will find the raven sitting in a tree again.Pilgrims Landing
It is part of the River Delta, but basically, the raven here counts for the River Delta as it is the main point of interest. You would have to solve the puzzle in order to move forward in this area. You will find the raven at the end of the puzzle. After climbing the platform, you have to just get down the bridge with the help of Freya.Battling the forest guys is the next step. Make sure you are wearing armor like Dragon Scaled Armor to protect yourself. After that, just lower down the other bridge by aiming your axe at its chains. Then fire up the ancient fire chandler with your Chaos Blades in order to burn up the plants. After the bridge is down, take a left to the Nornir chest, and you will find the green raven.
Cliff Side Ruins
We are going to be shooting another raven from the river delta, but we are going to take it out from the Cliff Side Ruins. You have to get access to the bridge up ahead in order to move on. The access can be taken from the ruin up to the top of the Cliffside in order to lower the bridge.Walk past the bridge, and you will see the raven just below you on the other side.
Goddess Falls
Also in Vanaheim is the Goddess Falls. You have to take a boat here to the Goddess Falls all the way to the center. Then you are going to climb your way up to the place of the rainbows and the waterfalls. Yes, it is a beautiful sight to see, but you will also see the raven soaring through the sky. You simply kill it again. The Veiled Passage
The next section after the Goddess Falls is going to be the Veiled passage. It is going to be relatively easier than the rest. All you need to do is just use your boat and move inside the tunnel. There are going to be way two paths. You are going to pick the left tunnel. Once you steer into the left tunnel, you will automatically see the green raven. It is specifically resting up high on a tiny tree root from where you will remove it.Eastern Plains
The Easter Plains are going to be in The Crater area. It is positioned near the Mystic Gateway located in the Crater area. You just move forward from The Mystic Gate. Turn a sharp left from the stairways of the mini contraption that turns the day into night. It is going to be situated in the top right corner of the area of the plains.Once you turn left to move down, you see a big tree ahead. You don’t have to go there because the raven will be sitting beside it. Just shoot at it from a distance.
Western Plains
This raven location of all raven locations in God of War Ragnarok is located on the other side of the river. It means you do have to use your boat to get there. The point of interest should be made the Gateway at the center.Jump down from there and proceed to go to the left side of the rocky landscape. Follow the frozen lightning, and once you get there, you will spot the green raven sitting on the rock.
Second Raven In The Western Plains
From the same Mystic Gateway, you can jump down again and take a sharp left turn. Now as said before that you have to look for basic points of interest, so you don’t get confused. You are going to be looking at the tree with a metal bucket hanging from its branch. You are going to move past that, where you will be sprayed with poisonous gas. Jump down from the cliff and move towards the tunnel to the left.Below the red resource chest, you will be looking at the green raven of the spot. Throw your axe and destroy it.
Third One In The Western Plains
You are again going to be starting from the Mystic Gateways previously mentioned, as it is a great point to start. This time you might have to go behind it, as from there, you will access the path. Another bucket tree will appear before you, and you can strike at for some Hacksilver. As you move past it, turn around and look down the left side, and you will find yourself a hiding raven. It is pretty hard to see on your own, but that is why we are here to help.
Plains
Finding the raven at this location is kind of different from the ones mentioned above. It is because you can only get the raven at night time. You can do that by backtracking to the mini contraption you found earlier. Change the day to night from that. Drop down from that gateway area, and You are going to go through the new getaway.During the day time, it is actually turned off, but at night time, it is open. It is a little bit of a journey to reach the top left part of the map. Take the cave route you find on the right side. Squeeze through it, and there will be a whole big area. You should follow the left side and look for the hole in the ground. Then you will be able to kill the raven sitting so idly.
Jungle
For the next raven, you will be going to The Jungle. It is the region to the south of the plains. You are going to find the raven by the boat dock. The boat is will be easy to find in the area because it will be in the center of the area.Start moving along the channel and take it to the far right back of the area. Jump off the boat and squeeze through the opening in the walls. After that, you will see the green raven just above the red resource chest.
The Sinkholes
Now at the Sinkholes, you will be able to find one raven, and it will be located as you backtrack to the final areas of the Sink Holes. You will see the raven as you are in the boat, but unfortunately, you cannot shoot the green raven while you are in the boat. Just dock it and jump out to kill it.Helheim
You will be able to unlock Helheim after quite a while in the game. This place only has just two of Odin’s ravens, but you do have to go through it.
Helgrind
Move onward to the Helgrind location in The Reunion quest. You will find the raven moving and flying overhead. Use your spear to kill it immediately.Second Raven At Helgrind
This Raven of Odin is situated in the Helgrind region, but you cannot visit it until the conflict with Garm has been settled. When you’ve finished, you’ll be at the Shipyard of the Fallen to the northwest. You must proceed by running across the bridge and turning left. You’ll come across the final door problem in the region when you get there.Drop through the opening on the bridge’s right-hand rise, then hold the gear crank in place. You can see a moving gear system up ahead. Place the Hex arrows and freeze the lower gear. Quickly move ahead before the Door drops. As you enter, you will see the raven instantly.
Muspelheim
Muspelheim is the last region where you will find the Odin Ravens. There are only two green glowy Odin ravens here, and that will complete your side quest.
Burning Cliffs
As soon as you get out of the mystic portal, drop down and go to your right. In the end, there is going to be a chest. From there, just look towards the right, and you will see the raven.Surtr’s Forge
The final raven will be at Surtr’s forge itself. Just above the platform of the forge, if you stand at the ramp, you can see the last raven. Just aim at it with your leviathan axe, and then you know what to do.My Experience Finding All Raven Locations
I know that grinding for the Platinum trophy requires you to destroy all 48 Odin’s Ravens. Thankfully, Odin’s Ravens in GOW Ragnarok are much easier to spot while exploring, even without using a guide. I destroyed more than 35 Ravens in my first playthrough without checking any specific location.
The sound these Ravens make is extremely loud and clear in Ragnarok, and it is enough to spot the Raven in most cases. Even if you miss Ravens in a region, just open the map and use the cursor to check specific locations. The map will show if you have destroyed the Raven in that location, which removes the hassle of going through all locations again.
It takes a lot of work to locate all 48 of Odin’s Ravens. Fortunately, if you have a good eye, you will spot these ravens immediately when entering the different places. Do not worry if you miss these ravens the first time since you always come back to destroy them. If you want to know more about the game, check out our review of God Of War Ragnarok.
