Risk of Rain 2 Newt Altar Locations With Images

In Risk of Rain 2, you will need brute force to fight the breeding monstrosity. That is why I highly recommend acquiring the best items – our item tier list has some answers for you. An easy way to become overpowered is to find Risk of Rain 2’s Newt Altar locations. Essentially, these little crushed rocks offer you a gateway, leading to a unique shop selling all exceptional items you cannot find elsewhere in the game.

Here is a summarized look at the Newt Altar Locations:

Titanic Plains

Behind Semi-Circle Arches: A Newt Altar hides in plain sight near the half-circle-pipe-look-a-like structure you see in Titanic Plains. At the center of the stage, go near the structure and approach it from behind. You will find a Newt Altar sitting near the giant structure. I have attached here an image for your reference.

Atop the Mountain: Not too far away from the above-mentioned location, you will encounter a high-rise mountain that houses a full-semi-circle structure. A Newt Altar can usually be found sitting there. An easy way to reach here is if you have a Hopoo Feather item equipped with Huntress: she also makes excellent use of this item other than just reaching at the Newt Altar locations. Atop the Half-Semi-Circle Structure: Once you are at the location mentioned above, look at top deck of the structure on your right. You will find another Newt Altar sitting there. Here is an image to get a better look.

Distant Roost

Below the Entrance: After reaching the Distant Roost and proceeding a little further in the stage, you will reach an area that ascends upwards. Before going any further, look below the annex to find a Newt Altar. Here is an image for reference.

Backside to Annex: Once you are at the location mentioned above, climb on it, and at its backside, you will another Newt Altar hiding at the far end of a rock.

Fallen Pillar: Proceed further from the area mentioned above, and you will find a fallen pillar. A Newt Altar can be found sitting behind it.

Abandoned Aqueduct

Atop Small Cliff: After reaching the Abandoned Aqueduct, a more accessible spot to find the next Newt Altar is to look for a small exposed cliff. Reach on its top, and you will see another Newt Altar here.

Top of an Aqueduct Wall: Proceed further this stage until you reach sky-rise pillars. Find an aqueduct wall near them and climb on its top to find the next Newt Altar.

Skeleton Head: You can’t miss the massive skeleton lying flat in the middle of the map, and its head rests on a large rock. Climb this rock using the skeleton or using the grapple ability of Loader and discover a Newt Altar.

Wetland Aspect

Under Water: To proceed with the Risk of Rain 2 Newt Altar locations guide, reach out for a large wall as shown in the image below. Go behind it, and you will find a passage underwater. Take this route, and you will find what you were looking for.

Vertical Pillar: This one is easy to spot as it sits right in the open. Find the area where only one vertical pillar stands still while others have fallen. Reach on its top and interact with Newt Altar.

Cliffside: This is also an easy place to spot. If you are running with MUL-T, hit that transport mode and run for the Cliffside. Go behind, and you will find your next Newt Altar.

Rallypoint Delta

Beachside: You will need to reach the beachside on the Rallypoint Delta stage. To your left, you will find a Newt Altar sitting at the far end of a tree.

Containers: There are a couple of damaged containers stacked together on this map. Go there and find a rock as shown in the image here below to find the next Newt Altar.

Atop Mountain: Reaching here is tricky as you will need to scale the mountain and reach its top. If you use Ion Surge of Artificer, you will effortlessly reach the location shown in the image here.

Scorched Acres

Circular Island: Next Newt Altar location can be spotted from a distance. All you need to do is reach the far end ledge of the lowest circular island, as shown in the image here.

Atop Mountain: Once again, you will need to climb at the top of the mountain, as shown in the image here, to interact with the Newt Altar in Scorched Acres.

Out of Bounds Mountain: Reaching here is quite tricky, and that is why I recommend picking Commando and using his Tactical drive. See the image to get an idea of where you should go next.

Abyssal Depths

Hanging Crystal: This is one of the most straightforward Risk of Rain 2 Newt Altar locations you can spot in the game. Climb the crystal suspended in the air at the center of the stage and interact with the Newt Altar.

Cave Entrance: Approach the cave from the left entrance, and you are likely to spot another Newt Altar in the Abyssal Depths environment.

Crystal Shards: Near the cave, you will encounter large crystal shards, and there is a great chance a Newt Altar spawns here. See the image for reference.

Siren’s Call

Alloy Unit Spawn Point: The next Newt Altar is located in the vicinity of this boss spawn location. Traverse to the far end rock as shown in the image here to interact with Newt Altar.

Cave: You need to access the cave from the right entrance carefully. Move slowly otherwise, you will miss out on this Newt Altar location. For some reason, I used Rex in this situation and successfully found the Newt Altar, which I missed in the first run.

Bundled Cranes: You need to reach the area with suspended bundle cranes hanging in the air using the support of gigantic thorny rocks. See the image here to get a clear picture of the area and proceed with your quest of finding all Risk of Rain 2 Newt Altar locations.

Sundered Grove

Old Tree: In Sundered Grove, you will find a large old tree encircled by the vegetation at the center of the stage. A mushroom sits a little high on a ledge at the tree. You will find the next Newt Altar there.

Fallen Tree: Once again, another tree houses the following Newt Altar location, but this time look for a fallen tree. Here is an image for reference.

Giant Root: The following Newt Altar in this environment is located below the surface level. Look for a giant root encircled by millennia-old vegetation. Here is an image for your reference.

Sky Meadow

Artifact Teleporter: In the Sky Meadow environment, you will need to reach the place where an Artifact Teleporter spawns. A Newt Altar spawns near the corner of this area.

Sloping Land: A rock sits on sloping land that houses a Newt Altar. It can be found pretty quickly from the center of the map.

Edge of the Map: Go at the very far end of the Sky Meadow environment till you find a series of giant rocks suspended in the air in a cascading manner. Another Newt Altar awaits you there.

Newt Altar Locations Accessibility

Knowing all the locations where you can find Newt Altars is half the job done; the other part is reaching them. As mentioned in snippets of each Newt Altar location above, a few survivors like Huntress, Artificer, and Loader have unique abilities that grant them excellent air time.

Hence, they can access almost all of the Risk of Rain 2 Newt Altar locations. Sadly, that is not the case with every playable class. So, here is my breakdown on reaching all Newt Altars from all survivors’ perspectives.
