There are multiple ways of raising your friendship bonds in Midnight suns, and one of the best ways is by giving gifts to the characters. At the end of a hangout, you can provide a gift to the hero you were hanging out with.

Key Highlights
  • Giving gifts is one of the ways to increase friendship XP, which results in a rise in stats, unlocked abilities, and new cards.
  • Gifts come in various shapes and sizes, and their effect is based on their rarity, with common gifts giving the lowest boost while legendary gifts giving the highest.
  • Gifts can be acquired by looking around the Abbey, buying from the shop, and crafting in Agatha’s Cauldron.
  • Each character has their own preferences, and the gifts that are given to them should be according to their liking and personality, as the characters won’t entertain gifts they don’t vibe with.

  1. The first way you can find these gifts is by looking around the Abbey.
  2. Look for objects with “interact” symbols above them, as gifts don’t usually have a distinct look to them.
  3. The second way is buying from the shop. The gift shop is unlocked after raising the friendship level to 2.
  4. It is worth noting that the gifts available in the shop are of much higher rarity and are much, much better than the ones you will typically find via exploration.
  5. A higher rarity of gifts means a bigger boost in friendship XP.
  6. The third and final way is through Agatha’s Cauldron.
  7. While gathering the ingredients can be tiresome, the gift you craft at the end is worth it, which in other words, means higher friendship XP gain.

Hero Preferences

Character Personality

Each character in Midnight Suns has its preferences, likes, and dislikes. Gifting a lighthearted gift to a character with a serious mood won’t translate into high friendship gain. Likewise, gifting something creepy to an upbeat and cheerful character would turn off the overall mood of the hero, which is obviously not good for your friendship bond. So keeping in mind the personality and preferences of each character is crucial when giving them gifts.

Below is a list of all characters in the game, along with the gifts they like. The gifts in “bold” are the perfect gifts for each character and will result in the highest friendship XP gain for the respective hero.
