MW3: Best Rival 9 Loadout & Class Setup

I have spent around 90 hours in MW3 so here is my recommendation on the best loadout and class setup of Rival 9.

Rival 9 is one of the most overpowered short-range beasts in Modern Warfare 3. It is a submachine gun that focuses more on speed, meaning you can really dominate close-range combat with it. However, for that, you would need the best Rival 9 Loadout in MW3.

Key Takeaways
  • Rival 9 is one of the best close-range weapons in MW3.
  • The main focus for the gun’s loadout is to increase the speed and the recoil control.
  • I would suggest players choose Optic over Ammunition.
  • The class setup is also focused more on increasing the overall mobility.
  • Rival 9 in MW3 doesn’t really shine in long-range, and the weapon is too fast for being used in such a range.

The main focus of the Rival 9 loadout is going to be more speed and better recoil control. Even if you notice losing handling for speed, don’t mind that, as the gun isn’t that difficult to handle.

The following is the best loadout for Rival 9 in MW3:

  • Barrel: Rival-38E Fire Starter Barrel
  • Stock: MTZ Marauder Stock
  • Muzzle: Purifier Muzzle Brake S
  • Ammunition: 9MM High Grain Rounds or Optic: Caucasus Reflex Sight
  • Magazine: 40 Round Mag
  • Improved Recoil Control
  • Better Aiming Idle Stability
  • Increased Bullet Velocity
  • Sprint to Fire Speed

  • Reduced ADS speed to some extent
  • Requires optic as Iron sight is not impressive

Here, I use the Rival-38E Fire Starter Barrel to get the speed I want. While you lose a bit of recoil and accuracy, it is worth it, in my opinion, as the other attachments will compensate for the downsides. I have chosen the MTZ Marauder Stock, as it brings back the accuracy and recoil lost from the barrel. While you will lose a bit of mobility, don’t worry about that, as it won’t matter much in combat.

For the muzzle, I prefer the Purifier Muzzle Brake S mainly because it tremendously increases the recoil control. Regarding the magazine, I would highly recommend going with the 40-round mag. As the main focus of the weapon is speed, the 30 bullets will finish before you know it. So, the 40-round mag will be helpful in such cases.

Best Rival 9 Class Setup

Now that the best Rival 9 Loadout in Modern Warfare 3 has been discussed, it’s time for the class setup now. The best-class setup will come in handy in most situations, so make sure to set it up before going into the actual combat.

  • The following are the best Perks, equipment, and secondary weapons for Rival 9 in MW3:
  • Perks: Infantry Vest, Scavenger Gloves, Lightweight Boots, and EOD Padding.
  • Equipment: Semtex and Battle Rage.
  • Secondary Weapon: Renetti.

Infantry Vest is one of the best vests in MW3 as it increases Tac Speed Duration and also reduces its refresh time, which comes in handy in almost every match.  The major focus of the vest is to boost overall mobility, which is exactly what is needed with Rival 9.

  • If you don’t have the munition box, then The Scavenger Gloves are really important as they let you loot ammo from the dead bodies.
  • As said before, the main focus of the build is on mobility, so the best choice is to go with Lightweight Boots.
  • The EOD Padding will make sure that you receive less explosive damage.
  • For equipment, I would recommend going with the Semtex, as it is the best option if you are more engaged in close-range fights.
  • Battle Rage will let you get those extra kills as it will continuously heal you and refresh the tactical sprint.
  • I have chosen Renetti as a secondary weapon as, most of the time, you won’t be using anything except Rival 9. However, it can come in handy in some situations.

My Take On Rival Loadout

Rival 9 is arguably one of the best choices for close-range combats, and with the best loadout, you can increase its DPS potential massively in MW3.

While Rival-9 is great in close, it is not that good in long-range combat, so if you are against a sniper, then the stakes are against you. I have mostly used the weapon in close and mid-range as that is the ideal way to use it. So, make sure to do the same and dominate the lobby with the Rival 9.
