Helldivers 2 Has Rolled Over 200,000 Copies In Germany Alone

Helldivers 2 has been a monumentally successful title for Swedish developer Arrowhead Game Studios.
As per a new report, the third-person live service shooter has sold more than 200,000 units in Germany alone.
The cumulative sales for the title are expected to have crossed way over 5 million.

Having sunk hours into it myself, Helldivers 2 is the epitome of what one can call “fun” these days. The game’s a far cry from the usual stereotype of live service games, but a proper, player-oriented third-person shooter instead. As such, it brings me no surprise to observe that the title has rolled over more than 200,000 units in Germany alone, with cumulative sales reaching well over 5 million now.

Helldivers 2 Is Incredibly Well-Grounded

Earlier in February, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt, spoke of the game’s sales with high regard, affirming that the title has already “blown past” estimates of the publisher, which is Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Again, no surprise here. Combine the absurd physics system of Helldivers 2 with its satirical theme and robust gameplay, and you’ve got nothing short of a winning recipe here.

In other news, Helldivers 2’s director has a few words for new players, asking them to “be kind” and “do your part” when participating in cooperative play. That’s because the overall structure of the shooter relies heavily on teamwork, so when you’re not doing that, you’re not spreading democracy as much as you should.

Helldivers 2 came out on February 2, 2024, for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
