Starfield Gets Invaded By Thomas The Tank Engine, Buzz Lightyear, And More

Buzz Lightyear flying in Thomas the Tank Engine hits different.

Story Highlights

  • The YouTuber ToastedShoes has created a mod that replaces all ships with Thomas the Tank Engine. It also adds a bunch of characters like Buzz Lightyear, Captain Jack Sparrow, Minecraft Steve, and more.
  • The mod works by replacing the NPCs with different models, giving the cutscenes and battles a hilarious look.
  • The mod is available for download but only for the YouTuber’s Patreon subscribers.
  • Starfield came out on September 6 this year for Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Despite all the visual enhancements and gameplay improvements, Starfield has seen its fair share of bizarre meme-related mods ever since it launched. But what happens when a modder adds all the meme material together in the game? The YouTuber ToastedShoes has done exactly that, bringing Thomas the Tank ship to Starfield alongside Buzz Lightyear, changing the Barret NPC to Captain Jack Sparrow, and more.

The peculiar bunch of characters walking stoically toward Thomas the Tank ship is the strangest thing to come out of Starfield so far. The gameplay in the tweet by Rebs Gaming shows Minecraft Steve, a random villager, and Alex walking along with Buzz Lightyear to jump aboard the ship. Thomas the Tank ship takes off into the cosmos with its creepy smile intact throughout the voyage.

The YouTuber even turned the other ships to Thomas the Tank engine. The gameplay and space battles mostly remain the same, besides the bizarre swap of characters. But seeing the absurdity does leave a weird aftertaste in the mouth. The YouTube video, posted a few days ago, showcases the mod in all its glory. Seeing multiple Minecraft Steves replace characters in serious cutscenes makes the gameplay more hilarious than it should be.

Fans have pointed out that Buzz Lightyear looks more realistic and impressive than it should be for a meme-related mod. The mod in question can be downloaded, but the catch is that it is only available for Patreon subscribers of ToastedShoes.

Besides all the mods made for the fun of it, many truly enhance the Starfield experience. One user has made the enemy AI much smarter, which makes the fighting more realistic. Another mod adds The Mandalorian Armor to the game, while the other adds spaceships that resemble muscle cars and mechs. The mod downloads for the space-faring RPG have crossed over 14 million alone on Nexus Mods.

Starfield came out on September 6 this year for Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC. It has sold like hotcakes on sale and already boasts over 10 million players in just two weeks after launch.
