The Invader Archetype in Remnant 2 is one of those Archetypes that has to be unlocked instead of being chosen in the game. The Archetype allows you to deploy decoys and distract your enemies by manipulating them. Often, enemies have their attention drawn away, making it easier to attack and finish them. Thus, the Archetype is very useful to attain, in my opinion.
- The Invader Archetype in Remnant 2 specializes in deploying decoys and distracting enemies.
- To unlock it, gather key items:
- Nightweaver Stone Doll: Collect three stone-carved dolls and keys in Losomn during the Nightweaver quest.
- Dreamcatcher Melee Weapon: Obtain it in Shattered Gallery by offering the Soulkey Tribute and the Nightweaver Stone Doll.
- Walker’s Dream Consumable Item: Get it in Corrupted Harbor by using the Dreamcatcher Melee Weapon on a dead enemy, leading to a battle with Bane.
- These items led to the Wooden Shiv, traded for the Invader Archetype engram from Wallace in Ward 13.
- Starting weapons for the Invader archetype include the Coach Gun, Service Pistol, Steel Katana, and Dendroid Armor set.
What Is Invader Archetype In Remnant 2?
The Invader Archetype in Remnant 2 is a specialized, unlockable class with unique gameplay revolving around distraction and misdirection. It enables the player to deploy decoys, drawing enemy attention away and providing easier opportunities for attack.
It requires unlocking through a complex process involving a series of quests, item collections, and battles. Based on my gameplay experience, it’s equipped with the best traits, perks, and skills, each providing specific bonuses like invulnerability windows, improved evade percentages and damage perks. The Archetype’s strategic use of decoys offers a fresh, tactical approach to gameplay, making it a valuable asset for outsmarting and defeating enemies.
How To Unlock Invader Archetype In Remnant 2
The Invader Archetype can be unlocked by following a series of steps that may appear confusing initially. The whole process includes multiple fights, clearing enemies, and unlocking items. Initially, you have to keep in mind that it is important to acquire three important items:
- Nightweaver Stone Doll
- Dreamcatcher Melee Weapon
- Walker’s Dream Consumable item
All of these items will help you gain access to the Wooden Shiv, which can be given to Wallace in Ward 13 so that he can give you the engram for the Invader Archetype. Don’t be discouraged by the details though, as the ends are rewarding.
1. Acquiring The Nightweaver Stone Doll
- Run the Nightweaver quest in Remnant 2 and go to the Morrow Sanitorium in Losomn.
- Enter the Asylum, where you’ll have to collect a few important items:
-
- Three Stone Carved Dolls
- Third-Floor Asylum Keys
- Prison Cell Key
-
- The three Stone-carved dolls are in the form of an unfinished sculpture and are used to unlock the Nightweaver Stone Doll.
- One of the stone-carved dolls is located in the library on floor 1.
- Another is placed in the Asylum’s backyard, while the third key is on floor 3.
- First, you’ll have to find the Asylum Third Floor Key to go to the third floor.
- It is placed behind a wooden shed in the backyard. Interacting with the shed door will result in a fight between you and Aberration Ripsaw.
- Defeating Ripsaw will award you with the Asylum Third Floor Key and an additional Tome of Knowledge Trait Point.
Now that you have the two Stone Carved Dolls and the Asylum Third Floor Key, you can walk back into the Asylum and go upstairs. There will be some enemies waiting for you on the third floor. Clear them and look for an open window. Climb out into the open balcony to collect the Prison Cell Key. Find the third Stone-Carved Doll on the floor and go to the basement.
Inside the dark basement, you’ll find a locked door. Talk to the mysterious voice coming from inside the door and open it using the Prison Cell Keys. Give the three stone-carved dolls, and it will unlock the Nightweaver Stone Doll. You have acquired the Nightweaver Stone Doll. This doll is crucial to gain the Dreamcatcher weapon.
2. Acquiring The Dreamcatcher Melee Weapon
Continue with the main story of Remnant 2 after acquiring Nightweaver Stone Doll. After some time, you will reach a place called Shattered Gallery. There, you will have to fight Magister Dullian. There is a dead corpse placed that has the Soulkey Tribute item.
It is a Dran heart wrapped in thick webbing. Collect the Soulkey Tribute and head back to the Asylum’s basement, where you will see a giant cobweb. Offer the Soulkey Tribute to the web, which will consequently rift apart and teleport you to the Tormented Asylum.
Afterward, go to the open cell room on your left side to find another intractable web inside. Place the Nightweaver Stone Doll on the web, and voila! You will be rewarded with the Dreamcatcher which I believe is one of the best Melee Weapons in Remnant 2. Additionally, you may offer other quest items to the same web, and there’s a chance that it will reward you back, too. There’s one more item left to collect now: the Walker’s Dream Consumable Item.
3. Acquiring The Walker’s Dream Consumable Item
For this part, you must go to the Corrupted Harbor in Root Earth, a completely different location in Remnant 2. You will find a checkpoint inside the ship; activate it. Go to the engine room and head to the pathway on the lowest floor. You will come across a few root enemies and an Elite on your way.
Clear them and search for a pod. You will find a dead enemy lying in the open area. The dead enemy will have a strange blue light radiating off of it. Use your Dreamcatcher Melee weapon to strike it, and it will give you the Walker’s Dream Consumable Item. Slot it onto the Hotbar and trigger its effect.
Once done, you will be teleported into the Dreamworld. There, an enemy boss called Bane will be waiting for you. The ruthless demon is hard to defeat, so make sure to go well prepared for the combat. The fight can be daunting. The Wooden Shiv will be rewarded to you for killing Bane.
You now have the Wooden Shiv after a long, successful journey of completing quests, collecting items, and fighting enemies. Take the Wooden Shiv to the Ward 13 area and meet Wallace.
Use your Wooden Shiv in addition to 10 Lumenite Crystals and 1000 Scrap and trade it for a Serrated Root Blade. This Serrated Root Blade is the engram corresponding to the Invader Class. You can now unlock the Invader from the Main Menu.
Invader Archetype Traits
The Trait for the Invader Archetype is called Untouchable. This allows you to increase the invulnerability window when you are evading. The Increase Evade percentage begins from 3% at Level 1 and increases by 3% at every level, maxing at 30% at Level 10.
Invader Archetype Perks
Like every Archetype, Invader comes equipped with a Prime Perk and other perks that help you through your journey in Remnant 2.
- Shadow – Prime Perk: Leaves a decoy for 3 seconds, resulting in a loss of enemy fires at the decoy target. It also blows an additional 5% damage to the enemies not targeting the Invader archetype.
- S.H.A.R.K – Damage Perk: Allows a 1 second Sprint or if you evade an enemy, it adds 1 Stack of Momentum. The Stack of Momentum helps elevate your Melee damage by 0.7% for 15 seconds.
- Loophole – Team Perk: All the Ranged and Melee damage inflicted on the enemies by your Allies will grant 5% of it as Lifesteal.
- Circumvent – Utility Perk: Allows you to Evade and perform Combat Slide at a 10% lower cost.
- Override – Relic Perk: When you use a Relic, it actually lowers the amount of threat generated by a super helpful 25%. It lasts for a total of 10 seconds, too, which is a comfortable enough time.
Invader Archetype Skills
There are three available skills in the Invader Archetype. Remember, though, that these skills come with lengthy cooldown times before you can use them again. Timing is key, and using your skills at the perfect moment becomes absolutely essential. Skills also have no upgrades.
1. Void Cloak
When you use this Skill, you’ll automatically perform Perfect Dodges for a whole 60 seconds! But wait, it gets even better: each time you pull off an auto-evade, the timer goes down by 33% – 100%, depending on the damage absorbed. Plus, a decoy pops up for 3 seconds too! Enjoy the thrill of perfect dodges and tactical decoy. The cooldown time is 75 seconds.
2. Worm Hole
This Skill is unlocked at Level 5. With Worm Hole, you’ll warp forward through space-time. And your next Melee or Ranged Attack, within 5 seconds, will pack a punch, dealing a whopping 300% damage to the enemy. To make things even better, if you hold down the Skill button, a targeting device pops up that helps you aim better. If you target an enemy directly, you’ll emerge behind them, catching them by surprise. This is a massively strong Skill and has a cooldown time of 35 seconds.
3. Reboot
Reboot is unlocked at Level 10. When activated, it creates a data backup of your current statistics, such as Health, Stamina, Ammo, and Negative Status Effect, all saved for half a minute. During this backup period, you’ll enjoy a boost of 15% Movement Speed and a 10% Damage Reduction, making your player even more formidable.
But here’s the real magic: when you use the Skill again, all your saved values from the backup are restored, and you also get a 3-second decoy to help keep your enemies guessing. Sounds pretty awesome. The reboot has a cooldown time of 55 seconds.
Invader Archetype Armor And Weapons
Like all Archetypes, there are three starting weapons for the Invader class and the Dendroid armor set. There is a Coach Gun, A Service Pistol, and a Steel Katana. Each has a distinct damage and magazine capacity. However, you can level up your weapons to make them more effective and lethal.
Dendroid Armor Set
Armor for the Invader Archetype includes the Dendroid armor set with Dendroid Mask, Dendroid Chest, Dendroid Leggings, and Dendroid Grips set pieces. You can have resistance against Bleed, Blight, and Toxins with the help of the Armor. The Armor, though, is not extraordinary because it provides moderate protection against attacks. But again, the best defensive tricks are already employed in Invader, with its mastery in decoy and manipulation.
Coach Gun
Attribute | Value |
---|---|
Damage | 115 |
RPS (Rounds per Second) | 2.3 |
Magazine | 2 |
Ideal Range | 15m |
Falloff Range | 33m |
Max Ammo | 28 |
Critical Hit Chance | 5% |
Weak Spot Damage Bonus | 100% |
Stagger Modifier | 10% |
In my opinion, there is a very utilitarian, form-follows-function feel to the simple design and use of the shotgun. Investing in tonnes of Iron and Scrap can raise The total damage from 115 points to 345 points. However, 345-point damage is too sweet and must be considered worth investing in.
Service Pistol
Attribute | Value |
---|---|
Damage | 24 |
RPS (Rounds per Second) | 6.5 |
Magazine | 9 |
Ideal Range | 20m |
Falloff Range | 50m |
Max Ammo | 90 |
Critical Hit Chance | 5% |
Weak Spot Damage Bonus | +105% |
Stagger Modifier | 0% |
With tons of hours put into this secondary weapon, I’ve noticed how this pistol is notorious for its accuracy and, therefore a valuable addition to the weapon’s collection. Its total damage can be raised from 24 points up to 72 points.
Steel Katana
Attribute | Value |
---|---|
Damage | 56 |
Critical Hit Chance | 10% |
Weak Spot Damage Bonus | +105% |
Stagger Modifier | -10% |
Steel Katana is a Melee weapon. It offers 56-point damage with a –10% critical hit chance. They are used in very close-quarter combat situations and mostly in one-on-one fights. The total damage can be increased from 56 points to a whopping 168 points by spending Iron and Scrap on it, so I’d definitely recommend putting your hard-earned loot into this beast.
Besides Steel Katana being a starting weapon for the Invader class, you can get this from Brabus as well later.
This brings me to the end of my guide on the Invader Archetype. My in-depth guide tells you everything you need to know about this unlockable class. You can look into how to unlock the Archetype and what steps to follow while doing it. You can also go through its unique Perks, Traits, Skills, Weapons, and Armor.
Now that you know about Invader, it’s high time you also know about unlocking Remnant 2’s Summoner Archetype. If you already have this class unlocked, then I recommend you read Remnant 2: All Tal Ratha Choices, Power Level, Relic Fragment, and Decorum Cipher guides.
