Elden Ring: Raya Lucaria Academy Walkthrough

The Raya Lucaria Academy is one of the most important Legacy Dungeons in Elden Ring, full of rewards and enemies for you to fight. To access it, you will need a key called the Glintstone Academy key, and you will be able to find the Academy itself right in the middle of the Liurnia of the Lakes. The closest Site Of Grace here is the Academy Gate town, and as you move ahead, you will also get to fight Rennala, Queen Of The Full Moon, and obtain her great rune.

Raya Lucaria Academy Gate

First, you must approach the Raya Lucaria Site Of Grace. You can get there by going through the Academy Gate Town Site Of Grace or by accessing the Purified Ruins.

I faced the second demigod boss here, so be prepared while you enter it:

1. Head to the Academy Gate Town Site Of Grace, defeating enemies guarding the gate to reach the Southern Raya Lucaria Site Of Grace.
2. Use the Glintstone key found near Sleeping Dragon Smarag’s sorcerer to unlock the Elden Ring Raya Lucaria Academy’s southern gate.
3. Note: Using the key transports you to the main Academy site; use it wisely to explore different locations.
4. To access the Legacy Dungeon, take the lift in front of the main Academy Site Of Grace, be ready for enemies, and consider ranged attacks.
5. Inside the Academy, face mages with melee weapons, avoiding time-consuming spells.
6. Alternatively, access the Academy through the lake-facing cliffs Site Of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes.
7. Head east of the lake, reach Liurnia highway, and access purified Ruins for entry.
8. Proceed with your journey through the Academy from the Raya Lucaria Academy Gate Site Of Grace.

Entering The Academy 

As soon as you go straight from the gate, you can see a path lined up with statues leading to a fountain.

There will be some foliage on its left side. Interact with it to get Trina’s Lily and keep moving forward until you can see a corpse and loot it to get the magic grease. 

1. Pass through the gate and follow the statue-lined path to a fountain.
2. Interact with foliage on the left for Trina’s Lily.
3. Loot a corpse for Magic Grease and return to the fountain.
4. Head up stairs past gates, engaging sorcerers. Use target locks and melee weapons.
5. Access the gate behind sorcerers to enter the Church of Cuckoo.
6. Locate the Site Of Grace inside the church.
7. Face sorcerer and marionette enemies in the chamber near the altar.
8. Loot a corpse near the altar for Somber Smithing Stones and a Golden Rune.
9. Attack an invisible wall near the entrance for access to a corridor with a Rune Arc.
10. Proceed forward to find a hallway on the left leading to another Site Of Grace and a summoning pool.

Graveyard

Through the Graveyard, you will be able to access another Site Of Grace called the Schoolhouse Classroom.

In this Graveyard, there will be a lot of corpses you have to deal with. They will be constantly eating away at your health and FP as they leap at you from both sides. 

1. Eliminate the attacking corpses along the path.
2. Cross the bridge, defeat skeletons for Knight gear.
3. Collect Golden Runes and other items from corpses.
4. Avoid or defeat an Archer, a dog, and more corpses.
5. Find the Teardrop Scarab for Ash Of War: Spectral Lance.
6. Head to the Schoolhouse Classroom Site Of Grace.

   

Schoolhouse Classroom Site Of Grace 

Before you reach the next Site Of Grace checkpoint, you will see what seems like a moving mechanism.

This is actually a large wheel that can be interacted with to power yet another lift, leading you toward a boss battle. 

1. However, it is not a boss battle but a stronger variant of the corpses you have fought before. 
2. Keep in mind that this is optional, and you can defeat the corpse to get some loot. 
3. However, I would recommend you avoid this battle and go ahead use the elevator. 
4. After that, you will reach a location where the enemies will be very easy to defeat, and after that, you will soon reach the schoolhouse classroom Site Of Grace. 
5. There will be a summoning pool as well in this area. 

Backtracking 

After you have successfully saved your progress, you can choose to go back and collect some more loot, like the Golden Rune near the wheel platform.

You will also be able to find a crystal dart nearby after killing some corpses. 

1. Save your progress at the Schoolhouse Classroom Site Of Grace.
2. Collect the Golden Rune near the wheel platform.
3. I would recommend battling the mini graveyard boss before using the lift.
4. Use ranged attacks efficiently to defeat the boss.
5. Dodge its deadly melee attacks and claim the somber-smithing stone upon victory.

Great Academy Halls 

Fortunately, there won’t be a lot of enemies to deal with in this area. However, most of them will be mostly using ranged attacks, which can be quite difficult to counter. 

There is a summoning pool here as well near the Schoolhouse Classroom Site Of Grace. And there will also be a lot of sorcerers guarding the Raya Lucaria Academy halls. There will be a mage nearby that you can kill quite easily. 

Left Side 

On the left side, you will be able to get a lot of loot, and you will have to face a few enemies as well.

Keep moving forward until you reach a dead end after fighting the enemies, and you will see a corpse here that will have a dark conspectus scroll on it.

1. Find the Glintstone Craftsman Cookbook in a nearby chest.
2. Discover a hidden passageway behind a corpse, revealed by striking the wall.
3. Access a balcony with a corpse holding a smithing stone.
4. Continue forward to find Trina’s Lily.
5. Interact with another corpse to obtain the Olivinus Glintstone Crown.
6. Drop down and return to the Schoolhouse Classroom Site Of Grace.

Right Side 

On the right side, there will be a lot of enemies. Most of these enemies are sorcerers, and you will be able to defeat them quite easily by using melee attacks and attacking them from behind.

There will also be a Living Jar Enemy at the end of the hallway, and you will be able to avoid it if you want. 

• However, if you choose to fight it, you will be able to get the living jar shard as well as a raw meat dumpling. On your way, you will also fight a lot of sorcerer enemies. 
• One of them will also have an Academy Glintstone Staff, which you can obtain by defeating them. 
• Soon you will come across a chest that will have the ritual part inside that you can collect and move ahead. 

Hidden Path 

There is also a hidden path that you will be able to access by going up a Staircase nearby.

This staircase will be located near the living jar enemy, and you will have to defeat a lot more mages as you move further. 

1. After defeating these mages, you need to go to the balcony and look on your left side to Furlcalling Finger Remedy. 
2. This key item will be looted from a corpse on the balcony, and after that, you will be able to go back and fight some more mages. 
3. So you will find yourself at a door that will lead to a mini-boss battle arena. 
4. This mini-boss is the Red Wolf Of Radon.
5. Before fighting the boss, make sure to go left and find a bookshelf.
6. Inside the bookshelf, there will be a hidden path that leads to a Treasure chest holding a spell as well as a Stonesword key near the altar. 
7. I suggest you make sure to avoid the tiny pot enemies while exploring the secret area. And after that, you can go ahead and fight the mini-boss. 

Red Wolf Of Radagon

To defeat the Red Wolf Of Radagon mini-boss in the Raya Lucaria Academy, here are some of my tips:

1. Use magic damage, as the boss is weak to it.
2. Consider equipping the Carian Knight set for an advantage, which can be found near the Church of Cuckoo Site Of Grace.
3. Be cautious as the boss is fast and can easily break your guard.
4. Watch out for its flaming strike attack, which can be a single or double hit.
5. Be prepared for spinning attacks and deadly combos.
6. Dodge its powerful bite attack rather than attempting to block it.
7. Beware of its spell attacks, as they can launch deadly projectiles and summon glyphs.
8. Avoid these attacks to prevent significant damage.
9. If you find the boss challenging, I advise you to use the Ash of War or fire grease.
10. Consider using NPC summons or the Furlcalling Finger Remedy from the Graveyard for assistance.

Debate Parlor Site Of Grace 

After defeating the boss, you will be able to access the debate parlour Site Of Grace.

 There will be a summoning pool as well, and you can get a golden seed located near a bridge.

1. From the Site Of Grace, proceed forward until you reach a gate.
2. Move right towards a balcony, allowing you to access a lower area through a smashed window.
3. In this lower area, you’ll find items like the crystal bud.
4. The main loot in this area is the Radagon Icon, located inside a chest on the right side of the smashed window.
5. Continue forward to encounter enemy mages.
6. After defeating them, you’ll discover a Golden Rune on a nearby corpse.
7. You can drop down from this area and battle more mages while exploring further for items like the Living Jar Shard and the cracked pot.

Courtyard Area 

After clearing the parlor, you will be able to reach the courtyard area by going down the hallway near the debate parlour, Site Of Grace.

Soon you will find yourself near a massive fountain where you will be able to loot a dead body to get a Stonesword key. 

1. Look out for the Golden Rune, which can be found near a crab enemy.
2. You’ll also come across the Glintstone Firefly and a golden seed during your exploration.
3. To enter the converted fringe tower, you’ll need an item in addition to the Academy Glintstone Key obtained later from the Academy rooftops.
4. This required item can be obtained from a blue crab located under the bridge on the right side of the Debate Parlor Site Of Grace. Defeat this crab to obtain the Karolos Glintstone Crown.
5. With the Karolos Glintstone Crown in your possession, you can proceed to the Raya Lucaria Academy rooftops to acquire the Glintstone Key.

Rooftops 

After clearing the courtyard, you will be able to go ahead and return to the Site Of Grace to access the rooftops of Raya Lucaria Academy.

From the courtyard, go left, and you will come across a hill that you can climb to get access to the rooftops. 

1. Defeat rooftop enemies for a Golden Rune.
2. Access a balcony for Glintstone Whetblade on a corpse.
3. Proceed left through mages to a door near a staircase.
4. Ascend stairs for another Golden Rune on a balcony.
5. Encounter marionette soldiers; find a ladder for another Golden Rune.
6. On the rooftop, locate a corpse with a crystal dart.
7. Keep moving; find a corpse with a meteor bolt.
8. Drop down to face a marionette soldier.
9. Continue forward, drop to a ledge, find Imbued Sword Key on a corpse.
10. Move on, defeat enemies, collect items like magic grease.
11. Obtain Academy Glintstone Key near a statue with Azur’s Glintstone Staff.
12. Progress until you face a glowing crab enemy; defeat it for the Twin Sage Glintstone Crown.
13. Use Debate Parlor Site Of Grace to reach the garden area.

 Academy Garden 

 From the Site Of Grace, go back to the courtyard and take a sharp right.

 Keep moving forward until you reach a large metal ball obstacle. 

1. Collect smithing stones and crystal darts as you progress.
2. Find a dead body with the Furlcalling Finger Remedy in the middle region.
3. Descend the steps and approach a portal on the right side, where you’ll face the Carian Knight Moongrum. Defeating Moongrum grants you the Carian Knight Shield.
4. Head left from Moongrum’s location and keep moving forward to reach a pathway with enemies and a Golden Rune.
5. Return and look for a narrow ledge that leads to a room. Climb a ladder in this room and face more enemies, including a mad pumpkin head. Defeating the Pumpkin Head rewards you with the Sanctuary Stone.
6. Nearby, you’ll find a treasure chest containing the Glintstone Scarab.
7. Proceed to the final area of the Academy, where you will confront the boss, Rennala, Queen Of The Full Moon.

Rennala Queen Of The Full Moon 

During the final exploration of the Raya Lucaria Academy, you will have to fight Rennala.

After trying this almost 10 times, here’s what I figured:

1. In the first phase, focus on defeating the crawling enemy that sings to break Rennala’s floating bubble and make her vulnerable. Be prepared for Rennala’s teleportation during the first phase.
2. Use bleed damage to take down Rennala’s shield in the first phase. In the second phase, watch out for Rennala’s powerful “Comet Azure” attack and dodge it carefully.
3. I would recommend using Fire Grease or other buffs to enhance your abilities in the battle.
4. Be ready to dodge Rennala’s offensive spells and projectiles.
5. Act quickly to defeat Rennala and prevent her from summoning reinforcements like a dragon, Bloodhound knight, wolves, and a large troll.

Rewards

• Upon defeating Rennala, you will acquire the Remembrance of the Full Moon key item and the Great Rune of the Unborn.
• Additionally, by activating the Raya Lucaria Grand Library Site of Grace, you can unlock further progress or access within the game.

With this, you will have successfully completed the Raya Lucaria Academy Region and will be able to progress ahead in the Elden Ring. 

My Thoughts On Raya Lucaria

Raya Lucaria Academy is one of the most critical places in Elden Ring. It features a boss fight with Wolf of Radagon, and following that, you have to fight one of the remembrance bosses, Rennala, Queen of The Full Moon. Her boss fight, as I experienced in all my playthroughs, isn’t that difficult, so you won’t have a hard time against me as I defeated her on my first try. While the boss isn’t demanding, her remembrance weapon isn’t that great, nor is her spell.

The most essential item, in my opinion, is the Dark Moon Ring that you can get from a box in the boss fight arena after defeating the boss. While the Ring is an important item that you need to complete Ranni’s quest, it requires a key to open the box.
