You have been given the option to grow and use an array of herbs and plants in Hogwarts legacy that can be grown just like real-life plants. The only difference is that these plants give you a heck of an advantage either in battles or just in the progression of Hogwarts Legacy itself. These plants can be used to either attack the enemies or simply help you in the quests of the game. One of these herbs is the Mallowsweet herb which is not really difficult to get in Hogwarts Legacy.
- Mallowsweet is a herb found in the open world of Hogwarts Legacy that is used to start Merlin Trials.
- You can get the Mallowsweet Seeds from The Magic Neep for 200 Galleons
- Mallowsweet Seeds take around 10 minutes to fully grow.
- About 95 Mallowsweet Herbs are needed to Start each Merlin Trial.
- Mallowsweet can be grown in any size of Potting Table.
How To Get Mallowsweet
Getting Mallowsweet in Hogwarts Legacy isn’t really hard in particular but growing it can be a bit of a hassle. There are about two ways you can go about getting Mallowsweet. The first of which is to just simply buy the Mallowsweet leaves through vendors. There are multiple vendors scattered across Hogsmeade from where you can just buy out the Mallowsweet. Do keep in mind that they will be a little expensive for you especially when you will be in constant need of them throughout the game.
Vendors
All of the Vendors will sell you the plant for the same amount of 100 Galleons. You will get only 2 leaves at this price, and you will need about one of them to unlock the Merlin Trail. This may sound pretty cheap but trust me, it’s not. There will be a lot of Trails scattered around the map so you will be in constant need of the Mallowsweet herb in Hogwarts Legacy. You will have to spend thousands of Galleons in order to get all of the required Mallowsweet in Hogwarts Legacy.
The Magic Neep
To avoid spending this much Galleons, you can go to The Magic Neep vendor in Hogwarts Legacy. The vendor is open on the Western side of Hogsmeade. There is a Floo Flame available in that area so don’t worry you won’t spend time on your broom to reach there. Talk to the owner of the shop, and he will give you both options of buying the leaves or buying the seeds. You should buy the seeds because in your case, that is the best option.
Important: With the help of these seeds, with just the expense of 200 Galleons and a Potting Table, you can grow Mallowsweet indefinitely in Hogwarts Legacy. That’s right you can grow the Mallowsweet without having the trouble of rebuying it every time it is used up. It is why it can be considered the best solution for your problem.
Growing The Mallowsweet Herb
The best option in this scenario is obviously buying the Small Potting Table because you won’t really need the Large Potting Table for such a purpose. You can buy the Potting Table from the Tomes And Scrolls as you did before when you learned Flipendo.
You can buy the Small Potting table for about 500 Galleons which you shouldn’t concern yourselves with since it’s only game money. So chill, guys. Just buy the potting table and head to the Room Of Requirement.
Room Of Requirement
- Room of Requirement must be unlocked after learning Transfiguration Spells in Hogwarts Legacy.
- Essential for growing various herbs and plants like Mallowsweet.
- Conjure the Small Potting Table into the room and place it.
- Interact with the table to plant Mallowsweet Seeds.
- Fertilizer can be obtained from Dung Composters.
- Purchase Dung Composters from the same vendor as Tomes and Scrolls
After about 10 mins of real-time, you may yield the Mallowsweet herb, and afterward, the counter will restart. This will go on infinitely, so you must yield it every time it grows the crop. Do make sure you have enough to start the Merlin Trials.
Merlin Trials
- Mallowsweet plant’s significance lies in the Merlin Trials, not for combat or potions.
- Merlin Trials are challenges and puzzles testing Wizardry Skills across Hogwarts Legacy maps.
- The reward from Merlin Trials is Gear Slots, enhancing your character’s capabilities.
- Gear Slots can be increased through Merlin Trials, starting from 20 slots.
- Unlock all Merlin Trials after completing the “Trials of Merlin” questline.

Importance Of Mallowsweet
In order to unlock or start the Merlin Trials, you must have Mallowsweet Leaves with you. Nora Treadwill will tell you the sheer importance of the plants since the trials were designed by Merlin himself. Getting the Mallowsweet Leaves are an easy task, as explained previously in the guide of Hogwarts Legacy. But you have to consider the fact that there are about 95 Merlin Trials spread across the game. Which means you need to get one for each Merlin trial. Now the maths ahead of that is beyond me, sorry. You need to have a good amount of Mallowsweet with you in order to unlock each Trial. So make sure you grow enough for the safe side.
Wrap Up
Now you know how to get and grow the Mallowsweet leaves, so make sure you try actually to grow them in Hogwarts Legacy. Doing it will help you progress the game furthermore and complete the game eventually. In addition, you should concentrate on improving significant spells like the Unforgivable Curses. By doing so, you can get access to spells like Crucio and Avada Kedavra that will enable you to take down even the toughest bosses.
Locations for Eyeball Chests, Gobstone, Unicorns, Daedalian Keys, Dark Arts Arena, Landing Platforms, and Leech Juice are hard to find unless you read our guides of course. The quests and puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy, like The Bridge Puzzle, The Bell Tower Puzzle, In The Shadow Of Time, and Ghost of Our Love, can be easily solved if you read our guides. Spells like Depluso, Glacius, Diffindo, Alohomora, Confringo, and Bombarda are the best spells in problematic situations.
